Can you post some inspiration pictures of the hairstyles you want to try?
And welcome!!!!
Here are some pics of the hair styles I like and my belt and dress
They're not showing up. You may have to resize them to make them smaller.
I'm not sure what Russian netting looks like but I think a birdcage going down to the chin looks cute. Did you ever see Reese Witherspoon in Sweet Home Alabama? Try resizing the pictures down. They have to be under 5 MB each in order to upload. And welcome to weddingbee!
Ok thanks... Hope this works! :)
I'll get the hairstyle pics....I saved them in word not in pic format
Here are some pics of hair styles I like.... Hi MissAsB, The Russian netting is exactly what Reese is wearing is Sweet Home Alabama...That is where I got my inspiration for the birdcage... I love it on her! So classic! I'm glad you think it looks cute to the chin... I'm such romantic and I love the idea that he still has to lift my veil even though it is so much shorter than the traditional veil.
I think I finally got the picture thing down...maybe... You girls are all so nice! So glad to have people listen to my wedding chatter and give me advice!!!! :) Thanks again!

Looks like the pictures still might be a little too big. The only think I'm not sure of is how the guy pulls it back. I would be afraid that my husband would have pulled it off!
Is It possible I'm attaching too many? It says when I reduce it that they are like 640 by 400 is that too big?
Welcome! First, your dress is gorgeous on you. So elegant. :)
You should check out this website: Lots of ideas on here.

Here's some examples I found:

I'm not sure now many pixels it should be each way. Sometimes when I get the X there was something wrong with the upload and it comes up if I try again. There isn't any problem with attaching too many pictures. I have attached a lot to posts before.
Thank you bananapants elegant is just the look I'm going for so thank you so much! :) Thanks for that website... I haven't seen that one. I did find some on a few other birdcage veil websites but not that many with the chignons... I'm going to try to post them one by one and see what you girls think... These website is addictive....and I have to go to work... I'm sitting in a towel...haha! Thanks for all of your help :)
Yay it worked... P.S. I wish I could read that Wedding New York Magazine and I like the veil on it too!
I really like the one with the flower! And BTW I love your dress too. I forgot to mention that!
Not sure why they aren't working for you. You could go the long way about this, and upload your pictures to photobucket.com, resize them on there (no bigger that 425 pixels wide) and then just copy and paste the html code (the 3rd box beneath the picture) into your post. That would work...
If you run into questions, just contact me on here, and I'll try and walk you through it. :)
As for you hubs lifting your veil for the kiss...what if instead of raising it over your hair, he just slowly raises the bottom of the veil and holds it to up softly to your cheek or something? Seems very Cary Grant to me. :)
Sounds very cute bananapants! For sure something you need to practice with him though!
Ooh, I love the side chignon!
I think whatever you decide will look gorgeous. :) Personally, I like the look of adding some visual interest with the hair/headpiece with something like a deep side part, a little face-framing bang, a side updo, and/or placing the headpiece on the side of the head. But ultimately, you need to go with what you like best!
Here's some more pics for you. (I've been collecting for awhile, what can I say?!)

Hope this helps! :)
Ok so you girls think the side chignon is the way to go instead of straight back? What about a low side chignon or middle?
As for the hair piece should it be on the side too? I definitely will have my hair parted on the side because it is always parted on the left side and I leave it like that even if I pull it back. What do you think about pulling down pieces? I hadn't thought of that. Also what about the clip with a small flower feather piece? Do you have any pics of these? Thanks so much for the pics you have shown me so far! I really appreciate the help!

Hi ladies!
I just registered and have heard fabulous things about this website. I'm getting married April 9th and am in the process of having my birdcage veil designed.
I know I want my hair pulled back in a low chignon type of thing but I can't decide if I should have it pulled straight back or to the side and the same goes with where to place the my head piece. My dress is very plain but has a swarovski crystal belt that goes the entire way around. The bird cage veil will have a crystal head piece clip (and maybe a small feather ?) that will match the various crystals in my belt. I'll attach pictures of the dress and the belt so you can get an idea.
My other question is I LOVE the idea of having my veil come right to my lips to my chin so my hubby to be has to remove it to kiss me but I don't know how that works? I know most Bird cage veils are shorter but do you think it will look okay if its almost a blusher like between my lips and chin but in the russian netting???
Any advice would be much appreciated. I'm so nuts about my wedding and would love to talk to any other brides who obsess over having the "perfect wedding" too! :) HA! Thank you so much!
Meg :)
