My fiance works for the city and an unfortunate part of his job is seeing all of the strays. For a pet lover, it’s hard for him and he’s always telling me about abandoned puppies. Yesterday this little girl showed up on his co worker’s doorstep and he doesn’t like dogs, so of course he brings her home. After a little bit of dominance squabble with our current pit/lab, she seems to be settling in. Now we just have to come up with a name. Any suggestions?

She looks like a Layla/Lyla/Lily to me

Haha, I know black lab/pittie/boxer-y mixes named both Layla and Zoe. They are great names! I also like double names for girl dogs – like Ellie Mae or Betty Boop 🙂

ZOMG love black lab mixes!!! We have a black lab mix rescue, too!
Here’s our baby (his name is Rigby – I love unusual more formal human names for dogs 🙂 ):

Did you check if she’s microchipped? Most vets should be able to do it very quickly for you. If she’s not, I’m so glad you’ll give her a good home and think the names above are just lovely!

I’m so glad you guys are giving her a new home 🙂
I suck with names. I just wanted to see the puppy picture 😀

We already have a lab/pit we rescued from the pound last year, and she looks exactly like his twin. Fiance put her in the yard and went back to work, but she escaped so I went looking for her after I got home. She was still in the neighborhood but getting xlose to a major street. I loaded her up and went to the vet. No chip, but she’s already fixed and didn’t have any diseases. We also have an older mini poodle and 2 cats, so until we know she can be trusted she’s being crated.
