OMG YAYAYAYAYAYAY! I live in Alexandria TOO! AND I lived on St. Kitts for a summer when I was in college (I was doing research -- also sipping a lot of yummy drinks and playing on the beach!) I'm planning my "destination" wedding in Pittsburgh PA so I (sort of but not really) feel you!
I would say have a lot of help from non pros who love you and your wedding here and then hire someone in St. Kitts as well! If you need any support you just let me know :) Welcome and congrats :D
Congratulations! Depending on your budget- you may be able to get a local coordinator with experience working in St. Kitts and willing to travel there. If not, I would search around for a reccomendation of a coordinator in St Kitts since they'll be able to be there the day of the wedding.

Yey! Congrats! I would suggest finding a coordinator in St. Kitts so that they will be there for the wedding day. They'd also have more experience working with the St. Kitts vendors, something that a local DOC would't have. Good luck!!

Hi lovely ladies after almost a year of silently perusing weddingbee, I have become engaged myself. We are deciding to do a destination wedding in St. Kitts 10/10/10 and I need your help. I live in Alexandria, VA and I am wondering if I should have a local coordinator here or one in the Caribbean. Also if you have any recommendations for either please let me know :)
