First, on a holiday weekend at a hotel you willl most likely not save much on a sunday weddng because hotels near the beac tend to have no shortage of business on holiday weekends (I used to work for marriott) Secind negotiation at hotels can be hard because they are through are under a big corporation, but you can defienintely try to negotiate meal cost, but very few laces give deals in alcohol. Roughly what is ur budegt, i looked into a ton of venues so I can let you know which one are in yoour range. If it helps at all our budget is $10,000 and we are getting married at the westridge country club in LA Habra
I was looking at the Hotel Hanford as well... It looks like a budget friendly place, but don't forget you still have to tack on costs of your photographer, dress, DJ, invitations, flowers, favors, etc. Costs pile up once you start adding those things. Also, we are having 150 guests and it seemed like the ceremony & reception area would have been a bit tight with 150 guests, I couldn't even imagine 180 in those spaces, especially the cermony area. Good luck with your search! When I negotiated with my venue I basically just told them how much I LOVED the place & want to get married there, but couldn't afford it at the original price they quoted. I told them my budget & they did their best to work with me, and brought it very close.

Hi everyone,
I recently got engaged and am starting the wedding planning process. I'm shooting for 9/1/2013 for a couple reasons. 1, it's on a Sunday. 2, it's on the Sunday of labor day weekend in 2013. I have a very tight budget (which I have not yet completely defined).
I need help with venue negotiations. I'm having a Persian style wedding and am looking into the Hotel Hanford, and the Newport Beach Marriott. I would prefer to have my wedding in a hotel.
I'm looking at around 180 guests.
Here is what I want to know: when I receive quotes from venues, what can I negotiate? I know I will already receive some discounts for having my wedding on a Sunday, but can I negotiate further? How much can I ask for discounts on open bar, price per person, etc?
I need as much help as possible. Thank you!!!
