That is SUCH a cute engagement story! Sounds like you've got a keeper on your hands (and I'm not just talking about your beautiful engagement ring). Congrats!
That is such a sweet story, I love that he got both your families there! And that's an absolutely gorgeous ring! Congratulations and welcome to the Bee!

Precious story and a beautiful ring! Congrats and happy planning!
Stunning ring and the fact that he invited your families is so super sweet.
Congratulations! I love your story, and your ring is gorgeous!
Congrats fellow wine country bride! Your ring is so lovely and romantic.
Thanks, @Treejewel19! Where are you getting married?
And thank you, to everyone else. I love my ring and it's so nice to have other people who love gemstone engagement rings, too! I know some people who just don't see it as an engagement ring unless it's a diamond, but oh well, their loss! :)
@ck_stella16: Gorgeous is gorgeous, regardless of the gem. I am a diamond bride and I can still appreciate a beautiful thing when I see it. ;)
I am getting married at the Grand Island Mansion (Walnut Grove). It is an amazing venue and incredibly affordable (I mean ridiculous for our area). Check it out.
Do you have any places that you are considering or like yet?
(Oh and an amazing bridal boutique is Starlet Bridal in SR. There are a few bees on here that purchased their dress there. They are so accomodating and they are going to be opening a much larger/better store on September 1st.)
Congrats! Such a sweet story :) And your ring is beautiful!

Hi everyone, I've been on the site before a bit, but never too seriously because I wasn't yet engaged...until now!
My boyfriend (now fiance!) proposed to me last week while we were on a trip to Vancouver, Canada. For those of you not familiar with Vancouver, they have a gorgeous park called Stanley Park, kind of like Vancouver's version of Central Park but a little more woodsey, and right on the water. One of the most famous sites in Stanley Park are these gorgeous, brightly painted totem poles. We were at the totem poles when I walked into the gift shop to buy a drink. While I was inside, he ran up to a random couple and told them he was about to propose to his girlfriend, and could one of them take pictures while the other took video (he was holding onto both his and my camera at the time).
I walked out of the gift shop and he said, "let's pose here for a picture, here, put your drink down...put your purse down for the picture" (he's so cute, he didn't want my (admittedly giant) purse getting in the way while he proposed, haha). We posed for one picture, and right when I thought we were done, he suddenly dropped down to one knee, and proposed! I immediately burst into tears (of joy!), and said yes (of course!).
But the surprises didn't stop there. Later that night, we went out to dinner to celebrate. He told me he had made reservations at a restaurant, but when we got to the restaurant, he admitted there was one more surprise, and I should just keep walking past the hostess stand and into the restaurant. I walked around the corner, and there was BOTH of our entire families, who had all traveled from California to be with us on our special day. Apparently my fiance had been orchestrating the whole thing for almost six months, and I had no idea.
Sorry for such a long post, I just wanted to say hello and share my story! Excited to be on here with all you fabulous ladies!
I love my sapphire ring, I have always wanted one, and my fiance loves the history and symbolism of sapphires, so we're excited about it! Sorry it's so huge.
