I am also planning a Scranton area wedding from a distance although my distance isn't as far. I live in Saint Thomas, PA (almost to the MD line). My fiance's family knows of a photographer in the Forest City area (about 30 mins from Scranton) that we are looking into but that is the only person we've looked at so far. Her website is http://lindafitzsimmonsphotography.com/index.html and I personally don't know much about her besides what is seen on the website. We are still looking though and I will let you know if I find more!
I'm so gald I got a resposne I was starting to think there were no other NEPA brides out there! Thanks for the photography info...have you already booked your venue? We're still going through options and really are having trouble getting a good list of what is out there. Definitely keep me posted and good luck with your planning!
The Radisson is Beautful! The food is great too. My photographer is altarimaging.com. If you guys planning from a distance have questions or need help, just let me know! I live in cranton and wold be more thn happy to help. Gina
thanks ginabav! how far along in the planning are you guys? I'm in desperate need of suggestions for venues especially anything for a tent/outdoor if you have any.
We booked our reception site last weekend...we are having it at the Holiday Inn in Dunmore. The price was well in our budget and the lady we met with was great, throwing in lots of extra food for the dinner. I am not sure of any other venues because my Fiance suggested that one and it was really the only one we looked at. Sorry I can't give you any other ideas for venues though!
As far as how far along I am in planning...we have the ceremony site and officiant booked, the reception site booked, my dress is half paid for but I bought my veil and I'm buying my shoes this weekend (hopefully), guest list is finalized, wedding party picked out and bridesmaid dresses are picked out, the venue comes w/ the food and cake, we have our DJ booked and we did our registry this past weekend. We are desperatly trying to book everything that we can book so we can sit down and sort of map out payment plans for the next 9 months. We've actually only been engaged about a month but we are trying to knock everything out that we can so we can not stress out for months. We both have a very busy spring coming up, so we didn't want to add loads of wedding stress on top of that (yeah right. Lol).
How far along are you guys in planning? I am kinda concerned about the things we're waiting to hear back on b/c they are two important and (I think) pricey parts...the flowers and the photography. Have you guys already talked to florists?
No problem! Depending on how many people you are having, you might want to try the Collanade. It's beautiful and they have a large outdise area with white enclosed tents for receptions. It really is a pretty place.
As far as planning, we pretty much booked everything major, except the honeymoon. Now I'm just working on paying for stuff! My fiance's aunt is a florist, so she will be doing our flowers. We had booked a photographer, but just recently decided to change our minds and switch(major PIA)!

Hi all,
My name is Naomi and I am originally from the Milford area, currently living in SC, and planning for a wedding in the Scranton area probably spring 2011. Just wanted to introduce myself and say hi. Anyone have any experience with the Radisson or recommendations for photographers?
