Hi everyone! I’m brand new here! I just got engaged last month and I thought it was officially time to stop lurking here and make an actual account!
I have a huge question though. My ring size is a 3 1/2 (Who knew a girl whose 5’10 could have fingers the size of a Barbies? -_-) and I have to wait another 3 weeks until it can be custom made.
Anyone else have to wait so long to have the beautiful ring??

Hello and welcome to The Hive! 🙂 Congratulations on your engagement! I’m only 5’2″ish but I think we’re ring size twins! I’m not sure though, maybe I’m size 3.25. I’m not engaged yet but I know what you mean, waiting for that beautiful ring to be permanenty sitting on your finger is soooo hard! When my SO and I were in Munich he took me to several jewelers to look at rings and they didn’t even make anything my size, the (very kind) lady at one of the shops told me that a ring that fit on my middle finger with some room to spare was “tiny for Germany”. LOL!

@happilyeveraftergirl: Congrats! It is frustrating to wait, but then you get to wear it for the rest of your life! It’s worth the wait!

Me!! The ring that my fiance bought me was a standard size and they told him that they could size it up or down 2 sizes. So, we went to get it sized and I’m actually 2.5 sizes too small for it, so the diamond has to be reset and causing it to take twice as long as regular sizing. So I know how you feel! But it’s so worth it in the end!
Congrats on the engagement! 🙂

@happilyeveraftergirl: Congrats! I’m waiting for my precious too, though I’m not officially engaged yet.
@MsMeow: I’m also 5’2 and my ring size is 2.75. 😛

@happilyeveraftergirl: I have the same problem i’m a 3 1/2, my FI proposed with a one of a kind ring that was 5 sizes to big and i had to get it resized it looks ridiculously tiny.
It’ll be totally worth the wait
Welcome and congrats 🙂

@happilyeveraftergirl: yay congrats! I’ve been engaged for 6 months and I still need to get my ring resized……LOL. The ring belonged to FI’s mother, and is probably around a 6.5 or so, and I’ll need it sized down to about a 4. I’ve never been a jewelry person and I was not keen on getting a diamond engagement ring anyway (ethical issues, but I’m ok with a diamond being passed down through family), but I’m getting antsy about finally being able to wear my ring! It just happened to take us forever to research jewelers and appraisers and figure out how we wanted to approach all this stuff that’s pretty new to us. I JUST called a jeweler that I think I’ll be comfortable with, so I’m super excited that I will finally have a ring that fits. 🙂

Thank you for all the congratulations!!!!!!!!!!
I almost feel like jewelry stores are discriminating against women with smaller hands! Not only did they not carry a single ring in my size, they couldn’t even resize the rings they did have to my size!
It’s worth it for a ring you wear forever, but four weeks?!!?!?!?!?
