Hi there just joined today after spending hours reading through posts with such wonderful advice, support and encouragement. So ive decided on posting for advice. I have started dress shopping, and think i have narrowed down my dress style to a fit and flare style – fitted to the hips or just below. I prefer a more natural flare as opposed to a trumpet style. Would love a style that has a full but natural flowing skirt. That said I did try on some fuller skirts and whilst i dont think they are entirely for me, they did make me feel like a princess….so im trying to be open minded if there are any dresses that arent quite as full but more subtle please post. Below is a few dresses I like style of. I am also quite concious that I am very broad shouldered….so any dresses with strapos that might flatter or distract from my shoulders would be great to see. Has anyone added straps to there dresses?
Feel free to post any personal photos of yourself in any dresses that might match the above styles…..thanks!!
angelica faccenda 1248
and finally mori lee 1903
all feedback welcome. I have only tried on the mori lee 1903 and the fit is great, hence i know i feel comfortable in this style as i have hourglass figure. I do like alot of details on a dress with beading and intricate lace design etc….phew sorry if this post is so long!

I think the first dress is gorgeous.. but it’s hard to decide when it’s stock pictures vs you in the dress. Only suggestion is go with your gut. And don’t be afraid to try on a lot more dresses before you decide! You only get one chance to pick your wedding dress!!!

First and foremost… as this is your debut post… a BIG Welcome to “the Hive”
GORGEOUS Dresses… unfortunately not a lot of real feedback from me, because as the other Bee said, it is hard to judge effectively when the pics provided are “stock photos” vs seeing something actually on YOU (in that we all are a bit different body type wise)
Agree tho that you’ll KNOW when you have the right dress on… as you’ll feel INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL in it.
If this “style / shape” is calling to you strongly… then chances are you are on the right path.
As for straps, I’m sure you’ll get some pics, because most certainly there are Brides who have made those kinds of alterations (or others) to the neckline for religious / church needs / requirements.
Good luck in your search for THE ONE
Hope this helps,

I wouldn’t worry too much about trying on the exact dresses… I just showed some styles I liked to the places I went to… and they pulled similar ones out! You may try on one you think will be perfect and then try on a similar one by a different designer and like that one more! But I don’t really know about the style choices over there.

I really like the Allure 2613!

Based on the dresses alone (and not how they fit on you), I like the first Allure and the Angelica Faccenda. The latter is really cool, the trim on the hem of the skirt is very unique and adds a couture-like element to it. The colour is really pretty too.
