Well bees, it happened. He proposed yesterday, I accepted, and after 5 1/2 years, we are engaged!
I had known a proposal was imminent for weeks, and I knew that we would get engaged before our move tomorrow — I just had no idea exactly when or how it would happen. Most of yeterday went by with no proposal, and when I left for my hair appointment at 4:00, I was starting to think that he forgot, or perhaps decided that he wanted to wait. I was gone for an hour, talking to a person younger than me and married for 5 years — so I was pretty anxious to get my own show on the road! I arrived back home at 5:00 — and a ring box was sitting on the couch. I started crying immediately — I was shaking, mouth agape, and he gestured towards the box and told me to open it. So, I did. In it was a slip of paper which read “let’s play a game. To get what you are after find a clue in the laundry room.” So, off I went. I found another piece of paper sitting in the washing machine, which said that nothing was there, but I could find another helpful clue in the bathroom. I searched, and found another slip of paper, which said “haha” and that nothing was there, but I could look in another closet. So, I went to look in that closet, which told me that my prize might be found under our mattress in the bedroom. I all but ran to the room, opened the door, saw my fiancé standing there. He got down on one knee and with tears in his eyes, asked me to marry him. We hugged and kissed, and he finally put the ring on my finger. Words cannot explain the elation I felt. I was on cloud nine for the remainder of the night — even the Steelers beating the Giants couldn’t sour my mood.
Now here I sit, surrounded by movers, and over the moon about my newly minted engagement. It was a fantastic end to our time in the South, and I am so excited to start our life on the west coast.
Here is a picture, taken in my livingroom, of my 1.25 ct FB moissanite on my size 3.5 finger. I will certainly update with more when I get a chance!
