Thought it might be nice to have a thread for those of us recently pregnant to keep tabs on each other. I'll start by posting a little about myself- maybe the rest of you can follow?

Hubs and I were recently married July 3rd. We weren't actively trying but we weren't preventing either. I haven't seen a Dr yet but I'm pretty sure my due date should be somewhere around April 23rd. Feeling fine so far but slightly nauseous in the evenings. I'm hoping for a girl and of course hubs is hoping for a boy... Definitely excited either way though.

Can't wait to hear from everyone else!

    Hi there :)

I can't wait to let MrsDG our due date when we know (right now I am thinking around April 28th).

We weren't charting or taking BBT or anything but we weren't preventing and we were hoping :) We were married June 26, 2010. I am 23 and he is 24 (I'll be 24 when the baby is here). I have had some cramping but no morning sickness yet. I am about 4 1/2 weeks right now so it is still very early. I have my first Dr. apt. September 29th....seems like a long wait!

I am VERY excited and can't wait to start buying things and planning!

    Congratulations to all :)

I don't know  our offical due date yet either, but we think it is April 21st. I feel completely fine. Around when we found out I had some breast discomfort which has subsided and now I'm just really thristy all the time.

Like you ladies, we weren't trying but we weren't preventing either....I actually have been off BC for about a year and was told that I am most likely not ovulating (due to frequent periods) so we didn't think a baby was possible without some added help. However, I must have ovulated last month because here we are!

@Sulli301: I know! Doesn't your first pre-natal seem so far away....My doc said that they don't see you before 10 weeks. I felt like that was too long, but I'm glad to hear your appointment is far away as well (although I'm sure you can't wait).

    Good Evening ladies...

So I officially got ratted out today at work. My plan was to wait a little bit to tell anyone besides immediate family but my supervisor outright asked me and I couldn't exactly lie about it... Oh well I guess its easier this way so I don't have to bring it up but it's still weird that other people know already.

I went today and had my pregnancy confirmed at a local health clinic and I'll call in the morning to set up my first official Dr's appointment. I've been trying to ask around and get suggestions from friends about doctors they used just incase I don't mesh with this particular doctor. Anyone have any good tips on how you selected your doctor?

Hiya - I'm just about to come into my 3rd month of pregnancy - and as much as I'm loving the idea of starting out little family (we are getting married September the 9th) I am hating my pregnancy, I have been having violent morning (and the rest of the day) sickness - I've lost 3lb because I just can't keep my food down - plain pasta, meat and potatoes are OK and banana's are OK ish - my GP has prescribed my some special vitamin pills so that I don't get scurvy or rickets and so the baby doesn't get ill or worse.

but the last few days I have been feeling a little bit better - and I can eat a little more - but still painfully plain food :(

I am very tired but my up coming wedding is keeping me exited! and my FI is being amazing.

    sorry for the whinge!!!

@vicarswifeintraining: I'm so sorry you're feeling so yucky. I've been lucky so far but hopefully when it does come it isn't nearly that bad. Have you tried saltines and ginger ale? I've also heard a lot of people swear by fig newtons. Who knows tho... Everyone is different.

@SandDollar: Looks like you're about two days ahead of me.. I'm so excited there's several of us right around the same time. Maybe when weird things start happening to my body I won't feel so abnormal then lol.

@all: Does anyone have any ideas on names yet? (not necessarily the ones you'll use but some you like?)

@LpCutiPie:  I don't have my offical due date yet so we could end up having the same due date! Too bad we aren't all closer to one another.

@vicarswifeintraining: I'm sorry your feeling so bad. I hope it passes soon. BTW when did the morning sickness set in? So far I haven't had any nausea or vomiting and was just curious when the storm hit?!

@SandDollar: We're pretty set on names actually.. For a boy it'll be Dayman Christopher which is a twist on my maiden name and his first name as the middle name and for a girl it'll be Libby Jane after two of our grandmothers.

@Sulli301: I have a pretty close relationship with my supervisor and its pretty uncommon for me to ask for time off work. So yesterday before my appointment she was like so where are you going anyways and I told her I had an appointment, she asked what kind and I said a doctors appointment. She point blank looked at me and asked if I was going to pee in a cup... It was more of a friendly discussion than a employee/supervisor discussion but I still didn't feel right about lying so I told her the truth. Guess it'll be easier in the long run that they know now.

@SandDollar: well I didn't actually find out until I was pregnant until I was a month gone - and I didn't feel fantastic for the first month but not really awful just a bit under the weather.

then once I found out the nausea just got worse and worse - It's stopping somewhat now thank god!

@vicarswifeintraining: Glad to hear our starting to feel better

@LpCutiPie: Family names are so sweet! We have some names \picked set too...

If it's a girl, her name will be Midori Kaye. Kaye being my mom and I's middle and Midori after FH's Japanese heritage and Midori Ito (the first women to land a triple axel).

It's a boy, I like Loden Christopher (my guys first name as well!), but FH is not 100% sold yet. He's afraid people will mess it up and try to call him Logan, but I don't think that will be an issue.

I really like the idea of naming our kids different names with the same meaning. In this case both their first names would mean "green" or a form of it.

I called the OBGYN today and my first appointment will be next Tuesday the 31st. I'm so glad I don't have to wait a whole nother month. I'll definitely keep you guys posted on how it goes.

@SandDollar: I love your girly name. Very cute! I'm not sure about Lodan either but that's just a personal preference.

Anyone else wanna share their name picks or have you decided to keep them secret for a while?

Hi! I'm right about 9 weeks right now. Based on my last period, we're due right around March 28th. We have our first dr apt on Aug 30, so we'll hopefully get to hear the heartbeat and have our date confirmed.

We were trying. We were married in mid-May, and decided to stop preventing and see what happened for a bit. My sister is getting married in May in Florida, so we thought we'd see what happened, and if we didn't get lucky in the first two months, we'd put it on hold so that I wouldn't be in my 3rd trimester during the time of her wedding. We managed to get very lucky and are expecting to have a 5 1/2 week old with us for her wedding!

We have a name picked for both a boy and a girl, but we're waiting to share them.

My breasts have been sore non stop since two days before our positive test. I've been finicky about food, but have had it pretty easy with the nausea and moorning sickness, especially once I figured that sticking to mostly carbs and more bland foods was really helpful.

@mrstilly: Congrats! You're brave to want to be traveling with a 5 week old but I'm sure everything will work out just fine. Looks like your Dr's appointment is the day before mine... I feel like its gonna make the week go by so slow, its just so exciting!

@LpCutiPie: I'm lucky to be traveling with my parents and husband, but I'm really not too worried about traveling with a baby. I've actually heard it's easier to travel when they are younger instead of older and they want to be moving. I'm planning to use a mpby wrap to keep him or her snuggled close to me.

It does seem like it takes forever to get to the first dr apt. I was bummed to becasue I read of women going in at 6-8 weeks and I was told not until 10 weeks. I'm impatient!

@mrstilly: Its a good think your almost at your 10 week mark! I'm one of the lucky ones that's gonna be seen at 7 weeks, thankfully! I don't have much patience either.

How is everyone feeling? Any morning sickness set in yet?

I'll be 8 weeks tomorrow and my morning sickness has been very off-and-on. Which keeps making me worry! Our wedding was this past weekend though, and thankfully I felt absolutely FINE that day and the day before. I was so relieved! Then Monday I was back to feeling icky all day.

I posted this in another thread too, but our story is that we stopped preventing in July and ended up with a surprise. :) I good surprise of course, but we just NEVER thought it would happen this quickly for us!

    Congratulations to everyone!

    @summerhill: Congrats!

I'm hoping I feel great on our wedding day too. That's one of the things I'm worried about at this point and maybe a little of not fitting into my dress, but I don't really see that a problem (I'll be 12 weeks).

@summerhill: Congrats! So glad you made it thru the wedding okay.. My nausea is coming and going but I've been lucky so far and haven't been sick.. Biggest problem is that nothing sounds or tastes good so I end up hungry and nauseous...

Hi Everyone!  I just got my BFP this morning (4 tests!!).  I am having bloodwork done next week to figure out my due date because i had such an irregular cycle and late ovulation this month.  I'm thinking I'm probably due around May 8th, 2011.  I'm excited to be part of the "club"!

@Sulli301: I know that feeling all too well. We've had lots of almost slipups in the past week or so. The biggest was at work where my supervisor was on the phone with the company owner trying to rearrange our schedules to accomodate some unexpected issues. With the way she rearranged it there will be an extra set of hands between my class and another class for two hours in the morning. The owner made a comment about how most times that's unnecessary and my boss almost said well she's pregnant and will need the help soon. Luckily she caught herself.. I think I'm gonna have to out our secret after the Dr's appointment this week though or else someone important is going to end up finding out without hearing it from us.

    Mrs. DG    July 18, 2009   Seattle/Tahoe

I just wanted to pop in and share a little pearl that someone told me early on in my pregnancy...

She said, "You are never any more pregnant than you are in your first trimester".

I always thought that because nothing showed and no one could tell that it wasn't like I was "really" pregnant like all those women with the cute baby bump... but actually, I felt most pregnant early on.  Just no one else knew it!

So ladies, you are as pregnant as you will ever be right now!  Try and enjoy and know it gets better!

Since the appointment is midday he'll grab me on my lunch break and we'll go together. I'll post an update tomorrow evening and let you know how things went and if anything exciting happened. Hoping to hear the heartbeat but not positive if that'll happen..

@Sulli301: Doesn't the end of Sept seem so far away?

How is everyone feeling? Today is the first time I have been sick and let me just say I'm not a fan. Hopefully tomorrow will run a little smoother. Besides today I feel fine, except I'm extremely tired! I can't keep my eyes open half the time and fall asleep at the drop of a hat!

    @sanddollar

YES! SO far away! I just want my etsy bibs to get here (for our parents...they are personalized and it is our way to tell them) so we can tell everybody! It has been a week and a half and driving me NUTS!

I've been EXTREMELY tired and had lower ab cramping a tiny bit (first day I found out and then once every few days for a few mins since) but haven't had any morning sickness yet. I have felt like I *could* get sick in the mornings after I shower and also sometimes after I eat certain things. I'm also VERY VERY thirsty ALL THE TIME! And have to pee a lot...especially at night!

@Lpcutipie how did the apt goe??

Sorry guys for not posting yesterday. I've been absolutely exhausted and just coming home and crashing.

@Sulli301: My symptoms are exactly like yours. Very tired, feeling like I can get sick but not, and an occassional cramp here or there. Also my back is starting to get sore already.

The appointment went well. It was my first time seeing this Dr as I didn't previously have a ObGyn. He was recommended to me by a co-worker and I'm pretty impressed with him. The appointment was a lot of do's and don'ts and the way their practice operates. I was glad to find out they don't induce unless completely medically necessary, they don't push epiderals unless you ask for one, they don't share oncall time with anyone outside of their practice, and a few other good things. They gave me some sample prenatals and told me to call them in a few days and let me know how they are before they write me a script for them. One thing that was very interesting to me was that he told me not to eat a lot of icecream. Apparently it contains a lot of sodium which is something I hadn't thought about. Any other specific questions you ladies might have that I'm forgetting to address? Pregnancy brain has started to kick in for me already.
