I’m 5’2″ and have gained 10-15 pounds since my wedding in October!
I was so anxious in the month before the wedding that I hardly ate. I woke up the next morning starving, and I have been eating everything in sight ever since.
I currently weigh about what I did when I got engaged, but I’m carrying the weight differently because my body changed so rapidly. The worst part is that I recently learned I have borderline high cholesterol for the first time in my life.
Please tell me I’m not the only one!

Yeah this happened to me too 🙁 I’m down 6lbs this year, only 10 more to go!
ETA: I have a bachelorette party in May where everyone thought it would be cute if we all wore matching bikinis, that extra motivation is definitely helping at the moment

I gained like 10 pounds over the honeymoon alone! Don’t worry… After being married I started “leveling out” and I made sure we were eating a bit healthier and the weight dropped off. 🙂

I gained 15 lbs after I moved in with dh last year. It’s so easy to get a rut, to quit going to the gym, etc.

Yes! I got married in October, too, and have put on a bunch of weight… let’s just call it our winter weight gain…

@LittleRiver: Can I join the club? I gained 10 lbs back since our December wedding. 🙁 You are most definitely not alone girly! It’s SO easy to get comfortable with old habits now that the wedding stress is gone.
@RockStar33: UGH. I’m currently stressing over bikini’s also. South Florida doesn’t exactly have a winter so every weekend is great beach weather unfortunately for my chub.

Another one for you! I’ve gained 6lbs (some days more, but 6 legitimate lbs) since my Nov. wedding. Ugh. The year before the wedding I could easily stay right around 112, without effort. Now, just hovering around 118. I don’t think I’m fat, but I am defnitely sluggish and my clothes are tight and uncomfortable. Wish I could get it back off for good!

You’re not alone. It’s so easy to just get lost in the world of newlywed bliss…and take on too many of your husband’s eating habits, haha!

@LittleRiver: Right here with you! I stopped working out about a month before the wedding and pretty much been eating whatever I feel like since then. Luckily, I didn’t gain any weight in the weeks before the wedding when I was stress eating But I gained about 8 pounds on the HM then it slowly starting adding! I just started going back to the gym this week and cleaning my diet up. I gainged about 25 pounds since the wedding!! HORRIBLE! I worked so hard to lose that weight in the first place. But I also took myself off the pill so I think that has something to do with it, not that not exercising and eating like a pig didn’t either. But don’t worry, you can lose the weight! Maybe we can help motivate each other! Good luck!

I was just getting ready to start a thread on this.. because this is so *me*. I think that I was so stressed out before the wedding, that afterwards I just relaxed way too much. I think I’m dealing with the winter blues, plus a bit of mild depression at times which doesn’t help at all! I feel like we should start a newlywed weight loss support thread, lol.

@FutureMrs86: I’ve been eating anything and everything, too! I’ve been looking for healthy/inexpensive recipes so that I can stop eating so much junk! Dh is picky at times about what he’ll eat, so that gets a little hard to keep us both happy with the food. I also printed out a weekly house cleaning list today, so hopefully that will at least get me moving more around the house, lol.
