I have gone to 2 weddings at the yachting center and they were both lovely. The food was good and service was as expected.

I looked into many of the places you listed and they were all out of our budget. We ended up going with Harbor Lights Marina & Country Club in Warwick instead — it has that private, glam feel we were looking for, is right on the water, and is so much cheaper than anything in Newport.

However, if you’re stuck on Newport/Bristol area, take a look at the Chanler at Cliff Walk. Gorgeous and less costly than a lot of other places. However, they had restrictions on party size & music if I remember right.

alo12285:  WHOA! That’s a lot of money. Definitely not what we were quoted (but at the time we were expecting 70ish and it would have been one small space)!

My husband I got married at Regatta Place last August and it was AMAZING! We looked at several of the other venues you listed above and found Regatta Place to be the best option for us based on location, ambience, and price. You really can’t beat the location on the water in Newport; such a unique venue. The staff at Regatta Place are amazing- they helped so much during the planning process and were on point the day of the wedding. On the day of the wedding we had a dedicated staff who made sure the day ran smooth – it was a huge help. The Newport Yachting Center is a nice location, but the tent at Regatta Place is much nicer- so you get a lot more for your money.

@alo12285  have you found your venue yet?  We just got married at Belle Mer’s Island House this past August and everything about it was fabulous!  The food was AMAZING! The staff is the best! Very easy to work with from begining to end.  They made sure everyhing ran smoothly.  It is a bit pricey but defnintely worth it.

We stayed at Oceancliff, with a timeshare exchange. We were not impressed with the grounds maintenance or unit cleanliness. We watched weddings at another venue – right across a small cove from Oceancliff, that looked very nice – Castle Hill. Also, one of the mansions has special events – we toured there – it’s along the Cliff Walk, and not attached to a hotel – Rosecliff. Whatever you choose, I’m sure it will be gorgeous. We’ve visited Newport twice and would love to again.
