I'm getting married on New Years Eve of 2009! Is anyone else getting married on this holiday?

I have received a little bit of push-back from friends and family for setting the date on a holiday, but I think it will be amazing! I really just want the reception to be a party and I think having it on this holiday will ensure that!

What do you think of having a wedding on New Years Eve?

I wanted (sooo) badly to get married on NYE, but the reception site was more important for me.. they already had the date booked. So, I opted for New Years Day and I'm still as equally excited.

I share in your enthusiam with the date, It will make for an amazing party, a night that everyone will remember, and anniversaries that will always be celebrated with style!

I also thought that some people would think it a little odd for choosing a holiday, but If you have that "party" mentality, I say, why not? Your most cherished friends and family will also think the same. It's a great way for everyone to be together on a holiday that otherwise is difficult to gather everyone in one room.
