Stay as close to the Falls as possible!

Once you get outside of the family-friendly walking zone, there’s a LOT of strips clubs/less desireable establishments

@ontbride:  my mother stays at the Sheraton Falls View for her sales meetings each year and keeps telling me how great the view is and how comfortable the beds are (and she travels a lot of work, so she’s not usually gushing about hotels). So, there’s my two cents – though, I’ve never actually been in the room, the photos she’s sent look nice.

My favorite hotel in Niagara Falls has always been the Four Points by Sheraton.  It’s about 2 blocks from the Falls and has always been very clean with friendly staff!

If you want to stay on the American side, maybe http://thegiacomo.com/

On the Canadian side, maybe http://www.sterlingniagara.com/ or you could always do Niagara on the Lake

Oops, just realized you specified ON side – disregard my first suggestion!

I also totally suggest doing the Whirlpool Jet Boats while you’re there. You get soaked but it’s super fun. And Cave of the Winds!

@ontbride:  Niagara is full of great views but accomodations can be lacking. I’d totally look at staying at the casino hotel(s). I went to college in Buffalo so we spent a lot of time staying in crappy places when we went over there.

Make sure you stop at Mints & Peppermints… if you like minty things. 🙂

@ontbride:  I have stayed at the Sheraton by Four Points as well as the Hilton Fallsview and both were nice hotels and centrally located.  For your wedding you may want a more romantic feel which would be perfect for somewhere in Niagara on the Lake…I haven’t personally stayed anywhere there, but lots of wineries etc.  Niagara Falls is relatively deserted in the winter so staying right by the falls might not be as exciting this time of year. @ontbride:  My favourite place to stay is the Hilton Fallsview. It has really nice falls view rooms that you can get with a fireplace or a jacuzzi. There morning breakfast buffet is also good. There beds are soooooooooo comfortable!!!! We dont stay anywhere else when we go there cause we love htat hotel so much

@ontbride:  We’ve stayed at the Hilton Fallsview and Embassey Suites several times, both are fantastic hotels and you can get some great packages this time of year.

If you’re looking to stay outside the falls in Niagara-on-the-Lake which is absolutely lovely there are a few great options including the Riverbend Inn, Prince of Wales, Queens Landing and Pillar and Post, all of which are amazing hotels with fantastic restaurants.

Check out Niagara on the Lake – it’s nearby & a really cute historic town to stay in. Very romantic.

Hi @ontbride:  If your Wedding Date is correct (this month) you’ll be able to enjoy The Falls and the surrounding area all decked out for Christmas… very pretty…

Lake = http://www.niagaraonthelake.com/page/Featured_Events

For a romance… that would be my first choice over NF itself.  But it is a quieter town (in the middle of wine country) and about 20 to 30 minutes away up the very scenic Niagara River Parkway.

There are lots of GORGEOUS accommodations in NOTL… albeit fairly expensive… Country Inns and romantic B&Bs abound.

Hotels in Niagara Falls itself are varied… check TripAdvisor to read up on what is currently well rated and what isn’t (there is always a high turnover in the Hotel & Restaurant biz in NF, so things can change a lot say within a few months or a year)

Niagara Falls Ontario (Hotel Reviews) = http://www.tripadvisor.ca/Hotels-g154998-Niagara_Falls_Ontario-Hotels.html

In the wintertime… it can make more sense to stay… DOWN The Hill (Niagara Escarpment) than UP… as it can be quite a walk up and down (usually via Clifton Hill), unless you are located at one of the Hotels that is close to the Incline Railway / Funiculars.

Map of Niagara Falls, ON = http://goo.gl/maps/aCmUh

Over the years, Mr TTR & I have stayed in many of the NF Hotels as well as places in NOTL, you can always send me a PM if you have more specific Questions.

Hope this helps,

@Montrose: FI and I just stayed at the tower hotel.. Its not your typical hotel, and its almost cheesy but we thought it was really cool and different.. its not your typical hotel its more ’boutique style’ plus they had a great place to eat breakfast in the lobby called ‘fuel it comes with the option of a falls view because its right down there by the falls like the other major hotels

Its right next to Embassy Suites, which is another hotel FI and I have stayed at before, its also very nice, and similar to any typical higher end hotel, the bed in Embassy was the size of 2 king beds put together which was cool.. but if your looking for something different I highly recommend tower hotel

@ontbride:  I think the hilton, four points by sheraton, the falls view casino or marriot are best. I stayed at all (except the casino) and they all have incredible rooms if you pay for falls view (Canadian falls view is better view then American falls view)
