I’ve never been to a wedding at either venue so I can’t weight in there, but FI and I go on wine tours at NOL all the time and I loveeee chateau des charmes. Both venues are pretty different though, so I think you need to choose what style wedding you want to have and decide from there! My vote would be for CC though it’s so elegant and beautiful!

stefano101:  I just got married in NOTL at Konzelmann’s Winery and we LOVED it!!!!!!!! The venue was gorgeous (we did an outdoor lakeside wedding with indoor ceremony at the winery) and the food was fantastic. Our wedding was a bit smaller than yours will be, but I strongly encourage you to check that venue out. We checked out a few of the venues that you are looking at and this place was the best of everything (vineyards, lake, wonderful staff, great food). I could go on and on… you would even have the option of having a lakeside tent, although they may be able to fit a wedding your size inside.

Please please please check that place out before you make a final decision! NOTL is a very special place for us and this place was a dream come true (and you will find that the price per person is good and there is no fee to rent the place… I believe Chateau charges a lot of money for that. This place is smaller but it is an interesting building and, as they will proudly tell you, it is the only lakeside winery in NOTL. It is a beautiful piece of property and our guests LOVED everything. Please contact me if you want any more info. Good luck 🙂

stefano101:  I second maryshelley:

Check out some other venues before you make your decision.  Konzelmann’s is beautiful, as is Rockway Estates (and they are reasonable), as is Angel’s Gate and my personal fave is Colenari Estates (not sure when your wedding will take place – they are still under construction but you can tell the venue is going to be absolutely amazing when it’s finished.

our friends got married at Herdner. We unfortunately missed the wedding but photos looked beautiful and I never heard any complaints! lol sorry if that doesn’t help much… FWIW i hear Herdner gets booked up real fast so the timing of 2 weddings can’t be that bad!

Colanari (or however you spell it) is a beautiful spot! I was just there over the weekend and unfortunately they apparently have no plans to do weddings (only conferences and the like).

With Hernder, they do have an ‘all inclusive’ package… Konzelmann had the same, too  (and, as I recall, the pricing was not different). The thing with Hernder, as was pointed out (and I definitely could be wrong), was that it seemed that outdoor wedding spot would be fairly ‘out in the open’ with traffic passing. I personally loved the upstairs room there, but it made no sense for us to book it out. We thought that it would require a lot of additional decorations to make it appropriate for a small wedding. The downstairs room had better access to outdoors, but the ceiling was a bit low.

We loooooooooove NOTL and we would have been disappointed to not get married there , so we were over the moon when we found a place that could accomodate us so perfectly. I swear I don’t work for that winery, but we had such an overwhelmingly positive experience, that I can’t shut up about it 😉

  • Wedding: May 2014 - Our Lady Scapular and Inn on the Twenty

Have you checked out Cave Spring Cellars/Inn on the Twenty? I got married there in May and it was fabulous.  My husband was out of town a lot for work so I wanted as little stress as possible and the coordinator s at this place are

spectacular. We signed up for an all inclusive package. Also it is in the little town of Jordon so guests could browse the shops in between our ceremony and reception. I think we paid under $150 per person.

stefano101:  It will be beautiful, no matter where you have it! It was tiring looking at all of those venues for us, so I can only imagine how you feel.

Just as one last ditch effort, did you go to Caroline Cellars? We almost missed it  because it is more in Virgil, but they seemed to have a nice set up.

All the best and let me know if you want any info on vendors, etc. May be I can save you some pain 😀
