@missglitterbee: It went really well. We had… about 80 people including the bridal party, and 8 tables plus a double-long rectangular head table. Also a cupcake table, signing table, and a gift table. It was a little cozy, but everyone fit and there was room for a small dance floor in the center.
The venue iteslf lends to rustic themed decor.
I’ll try to find some pics of the venue… I know I’ve seen some floating around but I do not have any myself, and cannot find any on facebook right now… still waiting on pro pics 🙁
i called them I believe. The guy’s name is Jason. He answers his phone but its not so great at replying to emails… just call 🙂
We used “Catering Visions” for our food (yummy!!!!) – they did a GREAT job and have worked out of the venue before they did ours, so they know how to deal with what facilities they have/don’t have. (If you go to meet Mark at his diner… Its in an industrial park so doesnt really look like a place that would do great catering but WOW are they good. Their food is SO yummy.)
Also, Detailed Events did our decor. I cannot find their website right now, but the lady’s name is Janine and the contact info in our contract: Phone: 604-576-2283 or 604-836-3735 (she too is not the best at respondidng to emails but fantastic with phone calls).
They both were very reasonably priced as well. Catering Visions was $35/person including cocktail hour, and all their prices include staff and all rentals. Detailed Events works very well with a budget and will add and subtract whatever you ask her to. We ended up saving quite a bit by supplying minions for her instead of her having to hire people to set up – we used the groomsmen and some other family men.
The one thing is that there is no sound system in the hall… you will need to rent a sound system and use a laptop (what we did… except my dad supplied the speakers, etc), or figure out a DJ… but there is not much room for an actual DJ booth…
Also, If you call Jason from the Lions Hall, he should be willing to work out a time with you if you want to just drop by and take a look around some time.
