We here tons of bad stories about weddings, so I thought I'd share a nice story I read about. A pastor in Akron has realized that a lot of couples at his church aren't getting marred because of the huge cost associated with weddings. Therefore, he got together with his parish over four long weekends a year, one each quarter, they are offering free weddings. Everything from the church, the flowers, the musicians, sound man, pastor, the photography-- people are donating their services to make it free, and brides will have access to the church for two hours.
Of course they don't cover the reception, but I am sure that this is a huge blessing to many brides and grooms out there!
I think this is a wonderful thing for a church to offer. You do have to take two pre-marital counseling classes (also free), but I think it's great!
