My fiance and I live together a short distance from the hotel where out of town guests and out famillies are staying the weekend of our wedding. We are having a rehearsal dinner the night before, and then have various getting-ready-related plans the morning of.
My question is around sleeping arrangements the night before the wedding. We have not booked a room at the hotel (though I was kind of thinking about it), meaning as it stands right now (unless I do something), we’ll end up at our house the night before the wedding. Is this weird?
Bees, what did you do the night before the wedding? Did you stay at a hotel and you husband to be stayed at your/his house? Did you both stay at a hotel?

I stayed in a hotel room with my bridal party and a few other close friends; DH stayed in a different room with a guy friend.

My FI and I don’t live together because of immigration, but we will be staying at my apartment together the night before the wedding. Some have told us we shouldn’t because it’s bad luck or we need the night apart, but I don’t care! I want to spend that night and the morning of the wedding with him.

I’m getting a suite with my girls for the night before and going back there with the then hubby for our wedding night.

@coffeeloverbee: I am planning on staying at hotel with one or two of my bridal party members. FI is most likely going to be at our place. I am going with the tradition of not seeing each other the day of until because of the anticipation. That and I think I would rather stay closer to where we would be getting our hair and makeup done 😛 It’s more of what do you want to do?

I plan to sleep at home with my fiance, and then leave from there in the morning to get ready! It just seems silly to sleep apart for one day.

- Wedding: October 2011 - Bed & Breakfast
We stayed, together, at the b&b where we were getting married. If I were you, I would stay at home and avoid the unnecessary expense. The only reason we stayed at the b&b is because it was a 1:20 drive from our home, and we didn’t want to drive that far on our wedding morning.

My DH and I had a destination wedding! We rented a beach house and all for the reception. My DH and his best man stayed there (where the beer and xbox was) while my BM and I stayed at a condo about 25 miles away (where my hair appointment was the next day) I loved every minute. My DH and I parted ways after dinner the night before. My BM and I got to bond and do whatever we wanted, while the guys did their thing. We were pretty set on not seeing each other the night before or the day of until the ceremony. Not everyone does that anymore lol. So, no i dont think it’s weird! 🙂

I stayed at a hotel (our venue) and he stayed at home.

@MrsKady: Basically this.
But…we won’t have the option of being at home. He will either stay with his parents, a different hotel (yes, probably a whole different hotel, not just room…I’m incredibly paranoid about seeing him before the ceremony, as is he), or depending on the bridal party, we may rent a beach house.

@coffeeloverbee: MY MOH & I spent the night at my Dad’s house the night before the wedding, and DH stayed at our house.

I stayed at home, with my groom, in our bed. The last thing I needed before my wedding day was an unrestful night’s sleep.

Ours was a DW in DH’s home town.
I stayed at the hotel with my mom. DH stayed with his parents.
I would have totally stayed with DH but he was ADAMANT that he not see me the day of the wedding until I walked down the aisle.

We live together, and I am staying at our house, but he is staying at the hotel with friends. (I think) If he really wants to stay home, I might stay with my parents since that is where the girls are getting ready the next day.
