    OK so...

Our wedding is on a Friday. We are going on a 7 day mexican riviera cruise that following Sunday.

What are we to do those first two nights?? We want them to be special as we don't live together and haven't "done the deed" ;)

    Any suggestions?

I was thinking we could stay at a semi fancy hotel the night of, drive to LA on Saturday and stay at a bit cheaper hotel that night and then leave on our wedded fiesta on sunday.

Has anyone done or heard of something else?

    Hmm?

I'm a waiter myself! Will you have access to your new living quarters?

I say just have some lazy fun days! Rent movies or go to the movies, mini golf, go out to eat, shop, don't have any set plans just go where the flow of the day takes you. You want to be nice and rested for you cruise :)

Definitely stay someplace very close to the port at least 1 night before departure.  That way, if anything were to happen (e.g., traffic jam, car breaks down, you get lost, etc.), you won't run the risk of missing the ship.  The last thing you want to deal with before your honeymoon is unnecessary stress.  Get to the hotel, have a nice dinner, set your alarm, & then enjoy the evening prior.  Maybe take a dip in the hotel pool or do some local sightseeing or simply relax before your well-deserved cruise honeymoon.

I would definitely stay in a hotel close to where the cruise ship is docked.
