So I’m 24 weeks and 2 days pregnant with my first. It was a surprise so we were a little shocked at first but now I’m nothing but ecstatic. For the past 6 nights in a row, I’ve been having pretty bad nightmares. I haven’t eaten anything different and I haven’t watching anything violent or scary or abnormal for my routine. It’s already hard to sleep and find a comfortable position, and now with the nightmares, it’s nearly impossible. I was just wondering if other mom’s had this problem and if you all had any great solutions??
I’ve heard it might be common and could be triggered by stress. I have been going to prenatal yoga twice a week for at least 2 months now and I have yoga tonight so hopefully that helps. Any advice or if anyone wants to commiserate with me that’d be great!!

I didn’t really have nightmares but I definitely had some heightened periods of anxiety during my pregnancy. It would only last a week or two at a time then go away again. During this tie I would have some pretty vivid unsettling dreams. I also found that during this time I would have heightened fears/ paranoia about everyday things. I would envision my husband having a terrible accident or someone breaking into the house while I was there alone. This was all very unusual behavior for me and I have read that others experienced similar things. I just chalk it up the crazy hormones.
Sorry you are experiencing this…Hopefully it gets better soon.

My nightmares have gotten worse since I’ve been pregnant. I am in the same boat with going to yoga, not eating anything new…..I just blame the hormones :/
