    Hey girls!

Just curious who is out there insanely late? I am! I am a total insomniac... well, not medically I guess, just a night owl. So if you are, what time is it where you are right now while you are still out there?

    For me, its 1:56 am

Good morning! It is 4:05am for me, but I'm on back watch at work waiting on a lock. I get off in about half an hour then get to go to bed. In the meantime, I "Bee" to pass the time. :)

I'm such a night owl, esp. ever since I got into a car accident. The pain I've been suffering with is too much to sleep. This week I only got 1 hour of sleep a night. Last night I didn't even sleep and was up for 24 hours. Ughh!!

Ha this is great, wish we had one of these threads every night, cause semi-late at night for me here means hardly aaanyone is on! It's only after 11pm here in HI. WB kind of dies out at around 10ish my time. Glad you guys are up with me! :)

@Jazziberry: I love that you used the Bee as a verb. I'm definitely gonna have to steal that one. "What are you up to babe?" "Oh nothing, just Beeing." lol!

@dearmissie:oh that's brutal! I am up because of pain too, a pinched nerve in the back of my head. I'm sorry you are hurting so badly :(

@Jazziberry:Why good morning to you too! My goodness 4:00 is really late!!! I hope you sleep well today :)

I got home safe!.... 5.40pm where I am now.

Im happy to start a night owl thread regularly if anyones keen :)

Im listening to a new cd today. The pretty reckless!

@sweetpea1031: I quit my job last thursday, got back from my honeymoon and the job was insufferable before I went on my wedding so Im just glad Im starting a new chapter for a bit. I dont know how I went.. first interview in about 2 1/2 years... most jobs that I get I dont usually go through the interview process, kinda just been offered the job. So its a bit wierd to start it all over. Feel like im in highschool.

@sweetpea1031: Ouch!! I know how bad a pinched nerve is. I'm receiving a lot of treatment for my back and neck (physical therapy, chiropractor, acupuncture, and massage therapy). I can only sit and stand for limit amounts of time. On Friday I felt some random pain shoot into my back. It hurt so bad that each night I only got an hour of sleep, however last night it was so bad I didn't sleep at all last night so I went to see the doctor today and it seems my lower lumbar has shifted out of place and to the left, pinching two nerves in my back causing the crazy pain and for my legs down to my feet to shake. I just got more medication prescribed to me (on top of my vicodin, muscle relaxers, and lidoderm patches) to help with this additional pain and to help me sleep. I hope it works..

    Just got off watch!

Haha yeah, I can't tell you how many times FI asks what I'm up to and I say, "oh nothing, just bee'n". It's to the point where he'll ask, "you bee'n?" before I even tell him. :)

You ladies have a wonderful night (morning?), and I hope those of you who are in pain feel better soon!

@ccranetobe:Why hello!! The end of work is the BEST time of the day! Good luck getting the job, it is SOOO hard going back to interviewing after not doing it for that long! How was your Honeymoon? Wedding? Totally jealous that you are in newlywed world right now! If I were married and living with my FH, I would be doing very different things at 2 in the morning haha! just kidding... sort of :) Can't wait to be there in March!! 198 days... sigh

Honeymoon was great.. we went to melbourne and its quite nice and cool but we shopped till we dropped!! saw all the touristy things. (people are suprised at how busy we were doing that kind of stuff, but we just really like to make the most of things!)

The wedding was great, not a problem.. well I didnt hear of any problem. it was one of these best days but it was a bit of a blur.. its such a whirlwind, I was so exhausted that when we finally made it up to our hotel I sat on the bed and put my head on the pillow and fell asleep. My FH had to wake me up cause I cant sleep that comfy in my wedding dress lol!

Im procrastinating on writing my thank yous. i need to do that when I get home tonight. have only done a quarter.

Those days will fly right by. My advice is get as much as you can done now! so you can rest easy the weeks before!

Insomnia has me in it's grip this summer.  I used to be an early bird.  Now I seem to be going to bed at the time I used to wake up Undecided.  Right now, it's just turning to 5am.

@CCrane: That is awesome that you made the most of it! Its kind of sad in a way when people go really neat places, but they don't take advantage of it! We will most likely head to Hawaii and I don't see us missing out on too much, we'll probably be out and about too.

You are so lucky that you didn't encounter problems! That is so rare from what I've heard on here and from married friends. That is awesome! That is cute that you totally conked out! I can't imagine how exhausting it has to be. Mine is WAY out there and I'm already zonked!

OOOH thank you's, I do not envy you there! Dang, just had our engagement party, only had 30 thank you's to write, they are tiring! Nice job having a quarter done already though! That's really good judging from weddings I've been too!!

Thank you, I hope they do. We live an hour and 15 minutes from each other, so the idea of seeing him at the end of the day and falling asleep with him sounds divine! Yeah... I'd love to get a lot done now, that is a great piece of advice, I just need to force myself to make decisions! lol

@Scottielass:DUDE I am a total insomniac this year too!! What have you done to try to fall asleep? I feel like I've tried everything! Tea, meditation, reading, boring movies... I gave up, now its just bee every night!

I am about ready to try sleeping pills for a couple of nights to get me back on track.  Classes start in a couple weeks, and these all-nighters just aren't going to cut it.

I think once the heat subsides it will probably get better.

@sweetpea1031: hawaii sounds super awseome!! *beach warm beach! Well I made the decision on a day people were  asking where does that go and how would I like this. I just said. you do what you think is best... that way I couldnt be let down! :D all the major things were sorted i.e. the way the reception was layed out but ceremony decor I just drew a picture of where I wanted it to go. That solved a whole heap of hassle.

I didnt end up doing a day of schedule I just knew where I had to be and the girls knew where they had to be and the photographer we basically said family photos after ceremony. Whoever who was there..

and the photos itself after the ceremony we blocked off till our cocktail reception. I think that made the day less stressful for me anyway. It depens what kind of family or personality you have tho.

Also.. cheap shoes! as i think investing in super expensive ones isnt worth it. My shoes got ruined but I didnt mind as they only cost me 20.00

How long have you been in an LDR?

@Scottielass:oh that is really rough. It has been so ABNORMALLY cold here for August, except for one week its been in about the 70's the whole summer! I feel like asking for a tax refund... living here (California) you are paying for the climate! I don't envy the heat though, especially at night, that makes it SO hard to sleep. Have you tried Tylenol Simply Sleep? Its an over the counter sleep aid that rocks, without any actual tylenol in it, just the stuff they put in the sleepy version to make it sleepy... if that makes any sense, ha!

@ccranetobe:Thank you! It was our dream spot and with the economy it became a little more affordable to fly, so there is an upside to that!

That is a great way of handling that! I think I am going to have to steal your idea on my wedding day and just say "do what you think is best!" with a disney caliber smile... I am going to be so excited! were you nervous now that I think about it? I hear in the movies and in other weddings that you get nervous, but I don't see that happening to me, perhaps I am just naive!

That is smart, and having the "whoever is there" attitude is so smart, i would have a hard time with people being late or in the wrong place to miss pictures, but I guess I am going to have to think about that. Did you have anyone important MIA for pictures? We will most likely do the pictures like you did, we are uber traditional and a before hand shoot wouldn't work for us.

Good call on the cheap shoes, I honestly hadn't thought about them getting ruined, thank you!

Well, it is kind of a wussy version of an LDR... we see each other every weekend and half the time we will meet half way for Wednesday to break the looooong week up... pathetic I know haha! We actually only met last Halloween, so its been 10 months today! We talked on the phone and via the internet for months ahead of time. eharmony.com, geez i never thought that'd be the way i'd meet mr. right lol!

@sweetpea1031: Yep, have used Simply Sleep before.  I just hate taking sleeping pills unless it is absolutely necessary.  I am quickly approaching that point, though.  It's either that or a couple of Stabucks double shots to keep me up until tonight, and then hopefully crash.  Neither is an ideal solution Undecided

@sweetpea1031: I dont think I was nervous because I didnt have much last minute stuff to do. I Kinda cruised through it i.e having programs assembled 6 weeks before the actual wedding, so there was no last minute DIY stuff. I got nervous in the car on the way to the ceremony and kinda could hardly breathe. It just suddenly dawned on me what I was doing!

Oh we missed my grandparents because they left straight after the ceremony... literally we had just walked down the aisle... got over to the tree where we were about to have photos and I saw there ride pull up. :( I was like hang on kinda thing but couldnt get to them in time.

Another was Hubsys mum... a bit of welll.. shes not quite there and dissapeared pretty much straight after the ceremony. We got everyone else tho in the photos and we have a really really large family!

Lol wussy version as the other side of town kinda thing? hehe jk. I dont think it really matters how you meet. I forget somethings how me and hubsy met! and im like oh yeah thats right!

Cheap shoes def the way to go I think, because no doubt your feet will be killing you by the end of the night!

@ccranetobe:hahaha! yeah, that's the kind of nervous I'm afraid of! I am sure there will be last minute stuff too, I am a horrible procrastinator!

Oh no I'm sorry you missed your grandparents and his mom! I hope you got pics of them at the reception, maybe you can photo shop them in? Its tough with a big family!

Hahaha, it is totally wussy! :) we live about 75 miles apart, and after reading the military girls' posts, dang!! I can't imagine not seeing him for months, those girls are tough cookies! serious respect for them! May I ask how you guys met? or if you'd rather not, i understand.

Thank you for the words from the wise! Its nice to get tips from someone who's been there :)

@sweetpea1031: hehe I met hubs 3 years ago now and I went out one night with a group of friends and he was standing next to a girl I knew.. so i went and said hi, didnt take much notice of who was next to her but said hi anyway and talked to her for about 10 minutes and then went back to the girls. about an hour later i waved goodbye to the girls and went home.  He apparently went to find me and just missed me and asked one of my friends were I went. He managed to get my number off her! and texted me explaining who he was and If i would be keen for coffee the next day. I kinda thought why not because its really hard to make friends in my city. Everyone leaves and goes to the next big city, even tho it was a bit random to get a text message from what appeared to be a random. My friend vouched for him tho (the one he was standing next to) and I met up with him and that coffee date lasted 4hrs and been together ever since!

Do people comment on how you met? I think its fabulous!

@ccranetobe: Would be a good job if they didn't constantly rob me of opportunity to move up. Every time a new position has opened lately they get rid of it or split up the responsibility due to "economy". I was pretty sure I was getting the job of someone who's leaving, but they're splitting her responsibility between me and someone who has been there half as long as me. I may not be cut out for a corporate environment because I was livid. And I'm just over it. But the schedule is the only thing that keeps me there! ha.

Hello night owls! or people across the globe! :)

@ccranetobe:That is a a really cute story of how you met! It is totally fate!! And I love the way he totally went after you, so cute!

People at first give us the "really? you were on eharmony?" and then they seem to come around in the conversation usually, but sometimes I find out the darndest people are on there too!

He jokes about how it must be OBVIOUS that we fit really really well together because they put us together even though I specifically requested nobody outside of 60 miles, that was just crazy far in my mind for a long term deal. But, they "flexibly" matched us anyway... like a friend nudging and saying "hey... really, you should really meet this guy/girl!" It was wonderful! I knew he was the one at our first kiss! Total fireworks. He figured it out only 6 weeks in while cutting a Christmas tree down together... so much fun.

When did you all know he was the one you wanted to marry?

@ccranetobe: I may look for something new. But I also might stick it out til it's time for me to go back to school next year. Not really sure what's in the cards for me yet. My fiance doesn't make enough to support us both so unfortunately I won't get to quit even then :(
