@BurlapnLace:  Hi ,  I m a mother of 2 daughters.  I hope I reached you in time. I was very happy to have a local bridal venue but the more i checked it out, the more i was not so sure this place was for me! Be very careful with this venue.  The guys running this place are very shady.  They promise to work with you and then go after you for additional charges on every little thing!  For example , if you bring in your own caterer……They will try to get a large chunk of money from them.  My expierience was an additional $800.00 .  They even wanted to charge me $8.00 per hay bale used.  …And the bales were already there!  The more questioned I asked  , the more uncomfortable I and my daughter became.  We decided not to use this place.  Ps… we also noticed droppings from birds and mice and who knows what else in the rafters.  Good Luck!

  • Wedding: November 2013

@BurlapnLace:  I looked at it before we were engaged when we just happened to be browsing in their shop. It looks beautiful, but I didn’t feel comfortable that they have done enough weddings. I was also concerned about elderly/handicap access and temperature control. Good luck.

@BurlapnLace:  my wedding is november. Which caterer did you choose? I feel like some loose ends need to be tied up however jacks barn is a best kept secret. The more popular it gets the more the price will rise so we are lucky we found it first.

Hello.

I would like to let you know that you are in very good hands there at Jack’s Barn. The Loft at Jack’s Barn is a one of a kind venue that you can’t describe- you just have to see it. I fell in love with the Loft from the moment I saw it and I actually cried when I saw the bridal suite. Since October I have worked very closely with the owners Darren and Chris and their focus has always been to assist myself and my fiancee in creating our very own unique and magical day.

I am sad to say that I am not getting married after all. Just about six months before my wedding was supposed to happen I had to unexpectedly call it off. Darren and Chris were most sympathetic and understanding to my situation and did everything they could to make this process as painless as possible for me. I recieved the warmest of condolences which helped in closing this chapter of my life. Best wishes to you on your wedding day, you are going to be very happy at Jack’s Barn.

BurlapnLace:  We are looking into Jack’s Barn too for next year! How is it going? Any insights would be so helpful – we are stressed about locking down the right venue.

Thank you!!

Hello!  I was so happy to find this thread.   My fiance and I are looking at Jack’s for next summer and are wondering if anyone has used Frungillo caterers there and has any feedback?  Thank you!

BurlapnLace:

Thank you so much!  We actually saw pictures online and went right to Darren to tour the barn.  I’ve contacted Frungillo and Country Picnic (my honey vetoed BBQ unfortunately!) and honestly just didn’t get a great vibe from CP.  Frungillo was also much more willing to work with us on pricing.

My fiance and I are thinking simple but yummy food.  We are definitely more casual as humans, but were thinking a mixture of casual and fancy food.  I’ve spoken with John a couple of times (meeting with him for the first time this week) and he seemed very open to working with us to fit our theme and needs.  I’m just concerned about the fact that there’s not an actual kitchen onsite and wondering if anyone had experience with them in that regard.

That being said- I will take any dish you have!  I’m so in love with the space and I really think it’s going to be “it” so any thoughts you have to share would be more than welcomed!!

Hi!! Im getting married at Jack’s Barn on October 25 of this year. I’m doing my catering through David’s Country Inn and I am 100% at ease with them. They helped us pick the right package, worked on getting us tables, chairs, linens, plates, etc. The costs can add up, but that’s something you need to consider when renting an empty loft/barn.

I also hired a wedding planner, Kim Bakke. She has such a vision that complements what I want to do – rustic and vintage. It helps that she started as a florist/gardener and then moved into wedding planning. She has helped figure out what goes on the tables, how to set up for the ceremony, etc, etc. I’d recommend having someone like Kim (or Kim herself) for the wedding.

I was definitely nervous because they haven’t had that many weddings, but if you stick to your contract and ask a lot of questions, Darren is super responsive. Every time I go up there, they’ve added a new feature (most recently new bathrooms).

As for transportation, I can provide a link to the buses we’re using to get people to and from hotels in Clinton. It was inexpensive, but then again they are yellow school buses, which fit with our theme but may not with everyone else’s.
