I was the same way. I would come home from working 12 hour shifts and just want to sleep, food souded awful. I also used to eat fairly healthy and didn’t want to think about vegetables or meats. I am now 26 weeks and my appetite is in full out binge mode. Just try to eat when you can to whatever does sound appealing.

@mjwyatt84:  baby doesn’t need much this earl on and will take what it needs from you (at your expense though so you’re the one who will suffer). Do your best that’s all you can do! It will vary. Sometimes I was starving other times I could go all day without eating anything. Babe will be okay. I had major food aversions in first trimester and all I could eat was French fries and chicken sandwiches from Burger King – doc never worried!

@mjwyatt84:  I was the same way! The hunger will come and go throughout pregnancy- cravings, not wanting anything…all normal!

Pretty normal 🙂 It’s exactly how I was with my first pregnancy, no morning sickness at all.  Just try to grab a little extra healthy snack when you can- a handful of nuts, a piece of fruit (esp bananas with peanutbutter!), a cup of milk, a small bowl of air popped popcorn, a Greek yogurt, you get the idea :).

@mjwyatt84:  Oh and string cheese is good too, because it’s 7-9 grams of protein per each. Avocado is also a great snack because of good fats.

As for the french fries, totally fine, but if you want to be a little bit healthier, you can bake french fries at home and add spices or if you are feeling really ambitious, cut up a potato or sweet potato(super good for you!) and toss with a tiny bit of oil and bake 🙂  So delicious!

OMG so hungry now 🙂

@mjwyatt84:  This week I’ve eaten chips in various forms (potato chips, fries, sweet potato chips, nachos- you get the idea!) and 4 whole avocados. It’s all I’ve been interested in and other food just isn’t exciting for me right now. I’m nearly 9w.

I didn’t have much of an appetite at all in the first trimester. It’s also not unusual to develop aversions to vegetables in particular over a pregnancy, so I would think about cutting yourself some slack and eating what you feel like eating when you feel like eating it!

@mjwyatt84:  My appetite has come and gone my entire pregnancy. Yesterday I skipped breakfast just because my belly didn’t rumble and remind me to eat. I’m 27w4d. At this point just eat what sounds good and take your vitamins. There have been weeks where only carbs sounded good (cereal, waffle or bagle for breakfast, pasta for lunch and dinner) – I was wondering if I’d ever enjoy a steak or chicken again. Then it went on my hot wings & french fries kick. I’ve never been a big fan of fruits or veggies but I’ve been known to eat a bag of baby carrots in 2-3 days & now I’m eating an apple every single day and sometimes an applesauce or two on top of that. My point…do the best you can and you’ll be surprised what your body decides it wants/needs/craves =)

I had the same problem until about 20 weeks.  I would eat when I was hungry, which wasn’t often. I would try to eat and take a few bites. I actually lost a fair bit of weight (which is good because I’m big to start).  Doctor said it was fine, just make sure to eat healthy and get my vitamins.

@mjwyatt84:  I was the same way for much of the first and second trimesters. Then the baby was getting bigger so I was hungry but had horrible heart burn every time I ate which made me not want to eat again. I was able to get my vitamin down every day and had a very healthy baby in the end. 🙂

I’ve never been pregnant but I think it’s pretty normal and not a concern unless you’re underweight, which very few pregnant women are. Most women gain too much weight when they’re pregnant, so I would be more worried about eating too much!
