Hi Bees!  Long time lurker, first-time thread starter.  Here goes:

Our venue is super cool, it's an underground room at a swanky wine + comfort food restaurant downtown, but there's no dance floor to speak of. Neither FI nor I are big dancers and we're not really into the traditional dances and garter/bouquet toss thing.  That said, we do plan to have a iPod and some fun music happening.

We'e having a small reception (40 ppl), about half of whom don't know eachother.  I'm at a loss as to what we'll do with people for 3 hours.  I've already switched our sit-down dinner to a heavy hors-d'oeuvres situation (along with an open bar) to encourage mingling.

FI and I have a sweet little inside thing about us being eachother's "puzzle pieces," so I think it would be cute to have puzzles at the table that, once assembled, make something fun.  Problem?  I don't really know what that "fun," thing is.  Plus, that idea could be super cheesy.  I don't know.

    Thoughts?

Our photobooth, actually faux tobooth, was a hit, too.  It was really simple, just a tripod, camera, remote, and a couple props.  We opted to send their photos in a cute paper frame w/ their thank you notes, instead of printing there or hiring a pro photobooth.  Very inexpensive, and everyone really had a lot of fun with it.  The pics are hilarious.  My good friend's wedding included about 35 people, and we all just mingled and talked during the reception.  We were chattering so loudly you couldn't even hear the music in the background.  So I'd say we entertained ourselves pretty well without official entertainment.
