So , why can’t there be dancing? Religious reasons or is it just venue restrictions?

Huh? Your Mom says the venue doesn’t allow dancing? Or, is this just your Mom’s personal preference?

I’d ask to see something official. Or I’d call the venue and pretend I was someone else, lol.

If its not written in the contract they can’t enforce it, I would keep the music at a respectful level, and enjoy yourselves!

so what happens if a group of people begin to move on mass to a tune?  the dancing police?

as your mom is on the board i would find out as much as you can about it and talk to her – you dont want to risk her position but have other people had weddings there and danced?

That just doesnt seem right. How many people? If they let you have a wedding there, whats a few people dancing going to make? Maybe change the music alittle and see what your mom says.

Sorry, but this kind of reminded me of the movie Footloose for some reason..lol

If there’s a dancefloor available for your bridal waltz then its going to be incredibly hard to stop people from dancing later on. How can you say yes we can dance to our waltz but no one else can later on to celebrate?? This is such a sticky problem. Could you maybe have somethig printed and placed on each table advising people. I would also choose non pounding music to help discourage any dancing. Best of luck.
