- Wedding: July 2011
I teach CCD in my parish to 6th graders. I have a really small class. 5 girls & 2 boys. So I was letting them have a 2 or 3 minute break while I prepped the next part of my lesson when Mallory asked me how my wedding plans were going. I have to tell you first that I LOVE having 11 & 12 year olds. They are so adorably dramatic about everything that it lets me be a little silly.
So I put this huge “Oh my gosh” look on my face and lean in to them my story.
Ms. Shamrock: You’ll NEVER believe what happened to me last week! I needed paper guest towels for the downstairs bathroom at my venue and I wanted to get them in my wedding colors, Navy and Cream. Well. Let me tell you. I thought I found Navy blue but turns out they were ROYAL BLUE! Can you believe it! I didn’t know what to do, so I called my Maid of Honor!
Mallory: OMG (yes, she said the letters) Ms. Shamrock. Please tell me you did not buy the royal blue napkins.
Ms. Shamrock: Well, I didn’t know what to do and my Maid of Honor didn’t answer her cell so I bought only the cream ones.
Kellie: Oh thank goodness! I hate to say it Ms. Shamrock, but I agree with Mallory and I would have TOTALLY noticed that the blue was all wrong.
John: Okay, I’d rather be doing our lessons than listening to this girl stuff. I won’t have to deal with it.
Ms. Shamrock: Oh, yes you will. Just your luck she’s going to want your opinion on EVERYTHING. Just you wait.
John: Then I wouldn’t marry her. I’ll tell the girl I’m going to marry that she can have anything her dad is willing to pay for.
I LAUGHED SO HARD WE BARELY GOT THROUGH THE REST OF THE LESSON. My class is the best!
See Bees!! Your hard work does NOT go unnoticed. It just comes from somewhere unexpected.
