I am stuck on what to do for music! No elctricity and outdoors, how will I play music and will everyone be able to hea it okay?
Our wedding is in September 2013 in an OPEN outdoor pavillion. There is NO electricity at all and nowhere’s near to use extension cords. We have only 50 people coming (and a low budget). We don’t need a microphone for anything and can’t afford a band or DJ. So…. IO am thinking of using an Ipod for our playlists. I am looking at those battery operated docking station/ speakers for an Ipod. Portable and easy to replace batteries if they run out.
Has anyone used this? How good was the sound and do you have any advice??

i got it for my mom’s bday last month and she loves it. we have sunday dinners outside (weather permitting) and we played music on there- sounded great. maybe test it out and return it if it doesn’t work out?

I have a couple of these, and I will tell you – check Ebay!! Make sure you price check against stores and Amazon as well, but I got AMAZING deals on Ebay – new in the box.

@sunkissed19: It may be a bit out of my price range, but it looks perfect, so maybe I’ll check some used deals!

We have a similar problem. We’re getting married on a sailboat, though, so we need something super portable. Also, we’re in Central America, so the electronics selection is very limited. :-

@allimar6: Not sure how but I was routed to your post via some random clicking 🙂
Did you ever figure out a way to do this?
My Fiance and I are getting married outside too. His dad said he was going to hook up a generator (far away so it wasnt noisy) so we could have electricity for stereo, microphone, buffet heaters, etc. Maybe this could work for you as well?
