I’m struggling with myself over spending so much money on flowers. I’ve read some posts of bee’s saying they did not have floral centerpieces, I’m wondering did you have something in it’s place or just nothing on the table? I know I could make my own using fake flowers but I just can’t bring myself to do that either. I’m not a big flower person and always tell my FI not to waste money on flowers as gifts for me but I just feel on the big day I’ll want real flowers. Any good alternatives? What are you bees doing?

I’ve seen some people do books! Those look amazing to me.

Do a search online for non floral centerpieces. You will get lots of ideas.
Books, candles, lanterns, grapevine wreaths, leaves, branches, pomanders come to mind.

We’re doing books, antique cameras, candles, and lanterns. We collect antique cameras and projectors so we have quite a few already.

I bought inexpensive candelabras, mismatched vases, and a small amount of bulk flowers from a local florist. Each wine barrel (ours was cocktail style) had a candelabra, a small vase of about 10 various flowers, and some votive candles. Candelabras and candles look great! I’ve also seen books and lanterns that look great.

You could do an aray of candles. Or I’ve seen tall vases filled with water and flowers floating in the bottom like this:

Check out Pinterest if you haven’t. That is where I got the above images.
