Please ressure me this will turn out ok… It looks like I can’t manage to meet up with my hairdresser prior to the wedding. The wedding (and she) are about 2 hours away from me. She’s booked on pretty much every weekend leading up to the wedding, except…two weeks before (which I had really wanted to attend my grad school 5th reunion) and the week before (which will be insane I’m sure). I’m just starting a new job so I can’t take time off during the week to drive up. She’s someone I’ve gone to before for my hair, so she’s not a complete unknown. Please tell me if you did not have a chance for a hair trial beforehand and how it turned out…

I would say it depends on the type of hair you have and the style you have in mind. If your hair is average length and texture that the stylist is used to working with and you have a very simple style in mind then it should be fine. I didnt get to do a trial either, but I did go in to see the stylist a couple of weeks before so she could get a look and feel of my hair since I had extensions put in. I had a very simple updo so it all worked out for me.

@kay01: At my wedding, i did not do a hair trial, and it turned out very nice 🙂 I think it depends on how elaborate you want your hair to be… If she’s a professional, she does this all the time! They’re used to one shot stylings.
also, what if you fall in love with the trial, and the day of your hair doesn’t quite curl the same way.. better to live in the moment i say!Enjoy your day, don’t think about what “might” happen or what “could have” been!

I don’t plan on having a hair trial. If you’re a busy person who doesn’t spend 2 hours a week at the salon, and you know the hairdresser is good, I’m sure you will be thrilled with the results on your big day.

My hair is very very fine – it doesn’t “hold” well, but, the sylist as I said does know my hair and is familiar with it. Slightly below shoulder length. I haven’t actually picked a hair style yet though…it’s on my to do list.
Good point about what if the real day doesn’t live up to trial expectations! On the positive side, at least I save myself a little cash by not doing a trial…
