@jlibster: The same thing happened to me several years ago, so your story sounds very familiar. I went to my first ultra sound and I was so excited, but no heart beat and I also had a D&C. It's ok though, the good news is you got pregnant so chin up, good luck and keep trying! one is bound to stick! :)
I am so sorry for your loss. I hope the rest of your journey to a baby goes well.
i'm so sorry for your loss. like pp have said, it's a good sign that you've been pregnant, not that it makes your loss any less significant. this is a very supportive place, glad you found us!
I'm sorry for your loss :-( Your have such a great attitude though - thanks for sharing your story and best of luck to you!
I just went through the same thing. This is a great place to talk about it and get out whatever you need to. You seem positive though. I'm hoping to get back to the same place as you shortly.
Thanks for all the lovely responses ladies. I really am optimistic even though it is sad. And it helps so much for me to know how common this is and that I am not alone in dealing with this setback. Almost everyone I know had a story to tell about this happening to them or to a friend. And the good news is everyone I know who miscarried went on the have healthy pregnancies and babies and families.
I know it was not my fault. Nothing I did or didn't do could have changed the outcome. I am not religious but I have a spiritual sense that it happened for a reason.
mwitter80 - I am sorry for your loss also. I re-read your posts and all the responses yesterday and wish you all the best. I hope you are back to trying soon and have good news to share.
So sorry for your loss! That also happened to me, except I didn't find out for 6 weeks that the baby had passed. The good news is that I'm now 33 weeks, and so far everything's good, although I still constantly worry about it.
Good luck with the D&C, it's very short and easy. I'm sure you'll do fine!
Sorry for your loss. We had the same thing happen at our first ultrasound and my heart just dropped. You seem to be taking it well so keep your chin up! It's good that you can look forward to trying again and I wish you all the best in your next pregnancy!

I have been reading these posts with so much enthusiasm and interest since I found out a few weeks ago I was pregnant. But, I had my first ultrasound today and there was no heartbeat and my hcg levels had dropped off, so I had a miscarriage sometime in the past week or so. I kind of had a feeling about it, since my boobs stopped feeling sore and I was not sick at all the past few days.
So I have a D&C scheduled for next week. I felt like it was the best option for us to have closure on be able to move on and try again soon.
I wish all the pregnant and soon to be pregnant bees the best of luck in this great adventure. These boards and the people on them are so kind and hopeful and generous with words and emotions. And for the bees going through the same thing, I feel for you and hope all goes well and your next one sticks!
Looking forward to getting past this and getting pregnant again and sharing this journey.
