My Fiance and I do not have a “song.” We have completely opposite taste in music. He likes classic rock, 80’s hair metal, and Rob Zombie. I like Lucinda Williams, Jenny Lewis, with a little Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears thrown in.
I would happily scrap the first dance all together, but he really wants to have one. Trying to pick a song has been fruitless. I thought about going towards his taste with “Without You” by Motley Crue or “The Search is Over” by Survivor, but neither one of us is really going for that. My perfect first dance song would be “I Only Have Eyes for You” by the Flamingos, but I don’t think he’s ever even heard of that song!
Anyone else have totally different music taste than your FI? How did you pick your first dance song?

omg yesss… My Fiance HATES country music and I love it! I was looking for songs that I thought he would like and one day while we we’re in the car riding down the road the kenny chesney song “you save me” came on and he was like “thats it, that is our song” it was a pretty awesome moment =)
All I can suggest is go through his iPod ad search for music that could work… or even yours. You’d be surprised what they actually like!

Well first I chose a song that I absolutely loved (Today by Joshua Radin) and then recently we realized that it’s just not something either of us listen to regularly! We then listened to songs from one of our favorite bands (Wilco) and found a song that works really well. This only happened a few days ago when we had a little more than 3 weeks til our wedding!
