This is my dress:
I fell in love with this veil/fascinator but it was discontinued before I ever found it. It’s since been taken off the website with no plans to bring it back in stock.
I bought this birdcage veil in champagne – it actually matches the color of my dress nicely. But is just seems boring. I will have a small pin in my hair that matches my jewelry. Will that spice it up enough?
I found this on on etsy today and I like it but am worried its too much.
So I am coming to the bees for help! Is the plain birdcage boring? Is the other too mucyou do you have any other suggestions??
TBH I never really was convinced I was going to wear a veil at all – but it’s my wedding! When else do you get to wear a veil 🙂

@Glasgowbound: I like the idea of the fancy fascinator. I’m a “more is more” kinda girl and it looks incredible. It would be PERFECT with your dress, which is amazing 🙂

I love love love the last one. I wore a cheap veil from JoAnn fabrics, but an amazing headpiece so I was fancy. Have you considered that route? How are you doing your hair?

@Glasgowbound: Wow! I think both the plain and the decorated are lovely! I think you could go with whatever you want! You might even be able to decorate the one you bought, if you’re a DIY kind of person.

@peachacid: I’m hoping for something like this for my hair

love the one with the fascinator!

The fancy fancy one is $160 which does kind of make me nervous – and it’s from etsy so if I end up not liking it, it’s not like I can return it 🙂
@nawella: unfortunately, I’m not a very crafty person. I am much better at paying someone else to make it for me 🙂
not sure if it matters, but I’m getting married in the UK where a hat/fascinator is a big deal for a wedding. The guests wear them (mine will be) and my BM’s are wearing fascinators as well. I’ll admit to being a bit jealous of their fancy headpieces if I’m just wearing the plain birdcage veil.

@Glasgowbound: Either the last one or wear the second but get something else to wear with it as @abax: has also said

@Glasgowbound: Are you coming to the UK a few weeks in advance? Can you have the birdcage as back-up and then try and find one once you’re here? There is a lovely shop in Edinburgh and even the department stores should have something.

I like the fancy one much more than the plain; it’s also closer to the inspiration piece.

@CeeBeeUK: I’ll ly ly be there about 5 days before the wedding. I’d like to,have it sorted before I get there 🙂
just read all the details of the fancy fancy fascinator – the veil, can be made detachable so I can wear the fascinator part all night !!!! This could be bad 🙂

Ok I voted plain but knowing your guests and bridal party will be wearing them, I change my vote to the last one!

I think you should go with the funky awesome veil from etsy, but ask the seller to customize it to have less feathers & such.
