I called my sister to tell her I had some exciting news, and that is what she thought too.
LOL. What I was really calling to tell her....I finally figured our how to curl my hair with a straightener. Exciting stuff, right.
I called everyone in my family to tell them we have great news.
Me: No, we're not pregnant... but we're buying our dream house!
Them: Oh.
Baaah, totally understand! :)
LOL at both of you!!! I still can't figure out how to curl my hair with a straightener!!! How frustrating.
This week we had to pick up some prescriptions from Target and the women, as in about 45, said O I thought you were buying a pregnancy test. WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just stared at her in shock as my FI paid for everything, just because you see a ring lady does not mean I am a baby machine!!!!
My sister is TTC so I do this to her all the time :) She doesn't even say anything about having news and I ask if she's pregnant :)
@ryansgirl - Youtube it! Seriously! My sister tried to show me for an hour the day of my bridal shower, but I couldn't get it. Youtube had so many different ways to do it, I finally figured it out!
Haha love this thread. I made a post about being excited about something on facebook soon after the wedding and a bunch of people posted asking if I was pregnant. Fun stuff.
@Ryansgirl: I can't do it either! I'm hopeless at it!
@bohemianbailie: "Does not mean I'm a baby machine". THAT made me laugh!
I don't know. Whenever I told anyone about the engagement, it seemed like the next thing out of their mouth was some version of "are you knocked up?" Very infuriating. I don't think I'll even attempt to tease the "I have good news!" I can't stand anymore pregnancy suggestions. I'll just say good news, right up front from now on to avoid that.
Oh my gosh! I called my mom the other day to find out my blood type for a college class and she immediately thought I needed to know my blood type because we were TTC. We're not even married yet!
Everytime I mention to someone that Im really tired lately, or not feeling full after meals like usual, people automatically say "youre pregnant!" Im so not! My hubby had a vasectomy years before we met, so I'm 99% sure Im not pregnant unless it was immaculate conception or his stuff undid itself (which I know can happen, but my periods are regular, so that clears that up).
Whats with people?!? Hahahah
Hey, curling hair with a straightener is WONDERFUL. I was quite proud of myself when I figured it out.
and no, I am not pregnant.
Yeah, I don't look forward to the "when are you going to get preg." questions after the wedding.
Wow. . .so first it's when are you getting engaged, then when are you getting married, then are you pregnant yet? Lol. I'm still a waiting bee. . .I guess I've got a long way to go!!!

True Phone Conversation A Few Minutes Ago
Me: I have some great news! I can't get ahold of DH so I thought I'd call and tell you!
Mom: What is it?
Me: We get to go on a cruise in February! Isn't that exciting
Mom: Oh, I thought you were calling to tell me you were pregnant?
Me: Huh? Really mom? Do you think I'd find out in the middle of a workday? Do You think I'd casually call and tell you? Do you think I'd tell you before I told DH?
Mom: Oh, yeah, I thought it was a bit odd.
Me: Okay, bye Mom, have a great day.
Why does everyone think that good news is that your pregnant???
((End of rant!))
