Personally, I loved my father's comment that he wanted 3 cows and 2 oxen as paymen...oh and some goats too-black ones, but he didn't specify a number. FI's sister said that it's the bride's family that pays out and she said she wanted llamas and bunnies, I didn't realize that my worth was still measured in farm animals...lol!
AAAAAHHHH! WHY ARE YOU APOLOGIZING?! That is SO exciting! Congrats! Pictures! You know the drill. So glad your family is excited and approves, even more exciting, maybe, that his family clearly thinks you are above and beyond what they expected for him! That's great!

Sorry guys but I've moved from waiting to officially ENGAGED!! My hopes are with you all that your day will come soon enough! Super excited even though no date has been set yet and I'm pretty sure my fam is more excited then I am (which is odd since this will be the 2nd time I've been engaged and they weren't this excited last time) hopefully this means they like my guy and they're on board with this...his fam's response however? His mom's exact words were "Is she crazy? She must be if she said 'Yes'," although not too sure how to take it.
