If you have awesome huge earrings, I would either skip the necklace or wear something really simpe like a strang of pearls!
I didn't wear a necklace! It would have looked all wrong with my dress's neckline to wear any jewelry - so I just skipped out. But I'm generally a less-is-more type of gal anyway. I would go with whatever you think looks most appropriate with your dress.
I didn't really care for how my dress looked with a necklace so I opted for long chandelier earrings and matching bracelet. Both are silver with austrian crystals.
I'm still debating. I don' t normally wear a lot of jewelry and I'm not sure I like the idea of a necklace with my dress. But I don't normally wear earrings and I'm afraid I should at least wear one or the other!
I'm going to go with chandelier earrings and a bare neck. Something like these I think:
I am having the same problem deciding what to do. My dress is really simple with a sweetheart neckline and I thought for sure that a statement pearl necklace was the way to go, but I ordered some and tried them on and it did not look right at all. I also tried it on with simple pearls and it wasn't quite right either. So now I am thinking: no necklace, statement earring? I will have to buy some and find out.
I am skipping the necklace, because I have an a-line gown with a sweetheart neckline with red embroidery, and it would just be too much. I suggest skipping it if your dress has a lot of beading or embroidery, othewise it might look too busy and detract from your radiant beauty!
:)
I'm undecided - I was considering maybe earrings and a bracelet instead?
If I wear a necklace it will be a string of pearls.
I was going to get a necklace, earrings and bracelet and in the end got diamond earrings of my moms to wear and a pearl necklace I wrapped around my wrist as a bracelet. I didnt end up doing a necklace, my dress looked great without one.
Well the dress is very sexy and elegant. It is a love V in the front and superlow V to the lower back in the back. I almost think it would look better without a necklace bc A, the front is sexy and showy enough and B, the back I think would look better without the back of a necklace breaking the illusion of the skin and dress. Do you know what I mean?
Oh and @kittyachi I LOVE those earrings! I am thinking of getting some stunning earrings instead!
Im just wearing dangling earrings and a bracelet. I think my dress will look better with out a necklace. My wrist is really small and I cant find anything to fit it so i think ill have one custom made.
I had wanted to wear dangly earrings and no necklace but I can only wear white gold in my ears and I don't have the money to spend on nice earrings...so I"m going to wear my diamond studs and hopefully find a necklace that'll work...if not we put lei's on one another in the Hawaiian ceremony so it's something...but I still want a necklace :)
I haven't decided yet. I think I might just go with some earrings, but I might try my dress on with a necklace too and see what I think.
I'm usually one for either/or...earrings or necklace, but not both. For the wedding though, I'll be wearing a simple rhinestone necklace and diamond stud earrings. What other jewelry are you planning on wearing?
I think it all depends on your dress. My dress has quite a bit of sparkle along the top of the bodice so I opted for longer earrings and a chunky bracelet instead of a necklace.
No necklace. The bodice of my dress has embroidery and beading and a necklace wouldn't look right.
I love the look of a bare neck, but I don't think my dress can handle it. I'm a tall girl with all my height in my torso, so I have almost 6" between my collarbone and the top of my dress. It's a sweetheart and, looking at it w/ my hair up in the in-store pictures, it's demanding a necklace!
So, yes, with small earrings.
I went with the bare neck look. I didn't want it to look too busy.
I decided on no necklace after trying some on when I went to pick up my dress. I'm getting some pear crystal drop earrings and some type of bracelet that won't snag on the chiffon.
I didn't wear one... I will say that if you're not 100 percent comfy wearing a strapless dress (I wasn't) a necklace would definitely help. I just wore my hair down instead to help minimize the strapless uncomfortableness
I voted yes but I'm actually still not sure. I love my dress and I want it to shine without a sidekick.
No necklace for me. I'm planning to wear some awesome statement earrings and a pretty bracelet. My dress has a sweetheart neckline with shirred detailing, and I think a necklace makes it look too busy.
My something old will be a necklace - because it's the one my grandmother wore for her engagement pics and she recently gave them to me! I'm also hoping my mom can hold off on having Grandma's engagement ring re-sized so I can use it for my something borrowed!
But otherwise - I probably wouldn't wear a necklace at all!
I'm wearing my mum's classic, single strand pearl necklace. It will be my "something borrowed." I wear pearl studs almost everyday (my grandmother's) so pearls are very "me."
There was much debate about wearing a necklace, but I decided against it. My dress was really detailed and I liked the neckline better bare.
I'm forgoing the necklace...I'm doing earrings and a bracelet...I think my dress will be plenty for my plain self! :)
I think there's something very understated sexy about a bare neck. Oh and those earrings I posted are all the result of a google image search for like "swarovski and pearl chandelier earrings" or some combo of those words. I just scrolled through until something popped up I wanted. I will need to actually find them in the real world at some point.
I'm thinking of going with some sort of complimentary bracelet also but keeping the neck bare.
I wore all kinds of nice jewelry....why not?! =]
I feel so naked without a necklace on
Well........I'm def going to go with pretty earrings and a chunky bracelet. I'm thinking these...
I didn't mean to upload the same image twice! I'd be the pretty bracelet and earrings. The great part is that they are handmade in Thailand and support a good cause. What do you think???????????
Here are pics of me in my dress too. It's getting resized bc it was nearly 2 sizes too big! But you can get a feel for it...oh and youy have to click on "front resized" to see the front of it! Sorry for taking over the entire blog with repeat pics!
Ohhh I just found this it's really nice. What do you think? It's CZ.

How many of you aren't wearing a necklace the day of your wedding? I've been OBSESSED looking for nice necklaces on Etsy, and believe you me there are MANY, but now, I'm not sure. Maybe my dress doesn't need one? Maybe just a really pretty pair of earrings?
