I’d remind him that getting married in May vs August would be more comfortable. The weather is to hot and humid in summer, especially in NY.

When my DH and I were looking at dates he chose a day in July. He wanted to honor his mother who passed by getting married on her birthday. In order to please him, I agreed. Unfortunately when we fell in love with our venue and wanted to book but that day was already taken. His habit of procrastinating back fired on him and we took the next availablle, October 22nd. He was disappointed and I was also but he kept lagging when I suggested every Saturday for weeks that we need to make an appointment to view the space. When July 23rd 2011 came and it was super hot and humid I secretly said to myself “Thank God were not getting married today, my make up would be down my neck before I stepped on the aisle runner”.

The weather on our wedding day was absolutely perfect, warm and dry… it all worked out for the best. If you really really want to marry May 2014 I’d try to sway him by using better weather as your ally.
