Less than I thought there would be.  Although it seems that most people who did not send them back are declining.

We had about 70% nos.  It was out of town for a lot of people so I guess it makes sense that more would say no.

We invited about 84 people and right now 8 people regretted. Our RSVPs are supposed to be sent out by tomorrow so we will see if anyone last minute declines.

I’ve always heard to assume that 1/3 of your guests will respond with a “no”…  I have read other things that say 1/4 say “no”.  I haven’t sent mine out, personally, but that’s about what I’m assuming… so with 215 invitees… that brings my actual total to 142-161.  So we are assuming 160, and hoping we get somewhere in that range!

Sure, everyone says something different.. I try to get a feeling from people in my family too.  I know that my cousin who is set to deliver her first baby 4 days before my wedding won’t be there, and neither will her parents – for obvious reasons… just to try to get a BETTER estimate, than just multiplying my number by .66 & .75 !!! 😀  And don’t worry, I totally understand having a wedding clouded mind!!!

PS, the pic of you and your FI is super cute.

We’re almost to our final RSVP date and it’s looking to be about 50%.  About 80% of our guest list is out of town so we weren’t surprised by the number of NOs.

This was a really hard thing for us to figure out.  Eventually, being a nerd, I drew up a spreadsheet and calculated all the possibilities, and included several variables.

We’ve got a lot of out of town guests, so we calculated that about 70% of the out of town group would say yes, and 90% of the in town group would say yes, with some personal knowledge thrown in (eg: Uncle so&so is broke, so probably won’t fly across the country).  So with our invitation list of 177 people, we got an end total of 118 adults, and about 15 kids.  Our DOC says that should be about right, if not a bit on the high side. And as much as I love everyone that we invited, I’m praying that we don’t go over the 118 adults.

ETA:  We sent the invitations out a week ago, and already have 40 yes’s and only 3 no’s!  Eeek!

I think I might start calling my guests a few days before the deadline. I have my deadline set at 3 weeks before the wedding. I’m trying not to let it worry me too much, all I can do now is wait and see how many we need to track down and then do so many each evening. I didn’t even put reply cards in my grandparents invitations because I know (God willing), that they wouldn’t miss my wedding! Also, I’m planning on utilizing facebook for some of my friends that don’t respond!

I sent out 70, got 31 yes and 2 no so far. I have a nagging feeling a lot of those that plan to decline are not going to respond till the last minute, trying not to be rude. Which sux because I have a B-list that I would love to send invites to in lieu of anyone who can’t make it from the A-list.

We had about 220 on the invite list and ended up with 160 yeses. We exepcted about 40 of the declines for sure (international/visas are ridiculously hard to get), and then got another 20 on top of that from random guests. Probably a higher turnout for a list of 180 than most people would get?
