i picked out a dress. i didn't try on too many... but i really fell in love with this one. so i took a picture and NO ONE LIKES IT. lol. ugh. i'm kinda bummed. i'm hoping MAYBE this has happened to someone else.
Chin up girl! It happened to me, except for one friend who liked it! My mom loathed it (she was obsessed with another one), the other one was honest and didn't like the style (she was biased against it), the other one was in love with another dress, and so forth. I was torn to pieces because I felt that this one was the right choice and luckily my wonderful fiancee comforted me and told me I had good judgement and go with my guts. I think when it gets altered a lot of people will see why its such a great fit. But in the end its about you, who you are, and the only person whose opinion REALLY matters is your fiancee and I can almost guarantee that no matter what you walk in they'll think you look amazing!
If you want to post a photo here, I'm sure that some of us can find some nice things to say about it. :)
Nobody else is going to care as much about your dress as you will, so I would say that your opinion is more important than anyone else's.
Aww don't worry about what other people think!! You will be stunning on your day. I'd love to see a picture because I'm sure all the girls here will gush over it for you :)

Can we see it? Sometimes a dress looksgreat on the bride but she initially gets negative feedback from friends and family just because it's not exactly what they would have chosen or picked for her, but that doesn't mean it's not a great dress!
It's hard for people to see the full impact of you wearing your wedding dress when it's in a photo. However, when you are wearing it the day of, fully accessorized, and beaming people who see it in person will say you look amazing.
@HisNightOwl2014: It's a beautiful dress. I think the reason why they have been negative about it is because the pic was taken from the wrong angle.
Have they only seen a pic or have they seen it in real life also?

@geekchick: They are CRAZZZYYYY!! That dress gives you a perfect hourglass figure, it looks amazing on you! It sounds like you have some really critical friends and family, because that dress has just the right amount of sparkle, a mermaid can never be bulky, and it's called lace not flower embroidery things, and it's very bridal and pretty! And as far as the boobs go...hey, rock what you've got, haha! And your dress will be altered to fit your body. Sounds like they wouldn't like anything unless they picked it themself!
Bulky? No.
Plain? No way.
Boobs look too big? They are tasteful. If your boobs are big, they will look big. There is no tucking those babies in...trust me!
Edging on the bottom is beautiful! Truly. I LOVE this dress!
And it looks fabulous on you! You, more than anyone else that has posted pictures of this style of dress ROCK it with your curves!
In the end, it doesn't matter what I, or anyone else has to say about it. YOU need to love it so much that noone else can change your mind.
But, if you ask me, stop looking! You've found the one!
Oh my gosh! I can't believe no one likes that dress! I tried it on in David's Bridal, but the only size they had was so small that I couldn't even get it on. My mother and I both fell in love with it and had them call to try to find it in my size in another store, but the only stores they had it in were up north or on the other coast. I was too nervous to order it without trying it on. That dress is sooooo hard to find b/c it is so popular! The way the side comes down is sooo flattering! It looks beautiful on you - really shows off your figure! Google that dress and you'll find amazing reviews and how people have a hard time finding it b/c it sells out so quickly!

Bulky? No way. It fits like a glove and shows off your figure.
Plain? Um, seriously. If they thought that was plain, I can't imagine what they must have wanted you to wear. I'm a big believer in less is more. You don't want the dress to overshadow you - you want to stand out!
Boobs too big? You have boobs. That is a fact of life. It doesn't look over the top or slutty. I assure you that your fiance won't have a problem with it!
Flower embroidery? We actually loved that part of the dress. I think it gives it a higher-end dress feel b/c it makes it look more unique than the 90% of dresses that have a straight border.
Don't let anyone spoil it for you!
Girl, you look AMAZING! Your boobs do not look too big (coming from a 36DD gal, I know too big), that dress does NOT look bulky, and I freaking LOVE the flower embroidery! Maybe try adding a blingy sash as suggested to maybe break it up to really give it that something extra?
No matter your decision, it only matters if YOU love your dress! Eff what the other people think. ;)

the really truly funny part about this, is that i'm typically so simply dressed that this felt SUPER BLINGY to me lol. i was like I FEEL LIKE A PRINCESS!!! hahahah omg i'm such a dork. my FIRST choice was super duper simple.

@babecake: i drove back to the salon and took more angles and posted them the Bee and my family and friends did not like where the dress cut me off at they said it was not flattering on me. but the dress i got is the same style but diffrent and it doesent cut me off ; ) i love the dress i got way more then the one no one liked. i had a big poll on here and the dress lost badly on the votes i thank the bee. i love honesty and i always know ill get that on here ; ).

You look A-Mazing in that dress! It's too late to give you advice, but here's how I avoided this: I didn't ask anyone for their opinion - picked what I wanted, bought it, wore it!!
Don't let anyone talk you out of the dress you love. If it is giving you doubts it is ok to try on a couple more, but if you love this one and don't get it you will regret it. Get what makes you and no one else happy you will look amazing on your wedding day.
@geekchick: Oh my goodness! That dress is gorgeous and you look AMAZING in it! Perhaps your boobs are making a bit of an appearance but I don't think it's vulgar in any way. If you think it's too plain, add a belt! I personally think it is beautiful just the way it is and whoever you spoke to is nuts/jealous
I tried that dress on because I loved all the detailing and bling but I hated how ot fit me. The dress looks amazing on you!!! I'm quite jealous haha it's not plain at all your friends/family are crazy :D

I think you look gorgeous! It is very flattering! I agree with others, you can easily add a sash. ALSO, you have to be the one that likes it, nobody else! Its hard to ignore other people's opinions, but you are the only person that matters on your wedding dy (well, you and your fiance ;))
im getting married in less then a week. I have a large italian family and let me tell you they are opinionated! I have delt with my fair share of bs. from them, you have to let their negative feedback roll off because you will never be happy. If you love it and you feel like a princess thats exactaly how you will look! my opion if I may.... you look georgous! I wouldnt change a thing veil or not the dress is stunning on you and you dont need to add or take anything away!

I don't understand. I mean, it shows slightly too much boob for my taste, but that can be fixed in alterations (and honestly, might not be avoidable in any dress!) But other than that, it looks amazing on you. I was expecting to come in here and see something hideous! I don't think you look bulky at all. It's obviously going to look a lot different when the final fitting is finished, and I would think that they would realize that.
Some people don't like my dress, either. Some say the ruching is weird, some think it's too conservative. But I'm going to rock it, and you should too. You'll look great.
