How old are you? Maybe if you guys are young and it’s not really common to be engaged, he feels embarrassed by the title. Fiance and I are 22 and we sort of feel that way, but it doesn’t bother me.

your post reminds me of the Seinfield episode when Elaine was making fun of people for using the word fiance – yes its the correct word and when we were engaged i liked saying my fiance but not everyone feels the same way about the label/word i guess

so as a couple you are not starting any planning until May 2012?  if yes then enjoy the next few months as an engaged couple before you kick into planning, i know its exciting and you feel the pressure to have answers when people ask for dates and details but its only a few weeks so try to be patient for a little bit longer

My fiance often calls me his wife when talking to people at work, just like I often call him my husband, sometimes it’s just easier to call him that than explain how our relationship is to perfect strangers. My Fiance also isn’t super interested in talking about wedding planning, but it seems as time goes on he is getting more and more into it.  I have learned not to take his lack of interest in which font we use on our menus as lack of interest in our wedding. Guys sometimes just don’t get that we want them to be as excited to plan as we are. Don’t lose heart dear, he may just be more interested in the  marriage than the wedding.
