NO ONE took home our favor bags... now what?

Virtually none of our guests took home their favor bags or even touched them for that matter. I haven't counted them yet (I almost don't even want to know) but I've estimated that I've got about 80-90 unopened bags, maybe more I'm too scared to find out. I am having a hard time accepting that they are going to go to waste after I worked so hard on them and spent so much money on them. Man they took forever to make! Because the bags have a personalized sticker on them, it's not like they can easily be reused. And all the gummi candy in them is going to get dried out and go stale soon, and I have all these flower seed packets... it's upsetting to think about. Is there anything I can do with them so I don't have to throw them out?? Who's going to want them when they are so customized? Do guests not care about favors anymore?! They didn't even open them to see what was in them!! I think I'm going to cry... "Frown"

... :( I'm really sorry no one picked them up! Maybe they didn't see them. Regardless, they are absolutely adorable and maybe you can offer to sell them with a special bonus feature of putting a new sticker on top?

Barring that, you could always just eat the gummy candy... *hugs*

((HUGS)) did the guests know they were to be taken?  do you have a local retirement home, hospice, children's hospital wing or anything like that? if so that would make a lovely gift to the kids and make them smile. what about a foster home or orphanage? i definitely think you can give them to someone that will smile and appreciate them.

I'm so sorry! They look fabulous, and you did a fantastic job. It's a shame that they got overlooked.

You should save a few unopened, just for the pretty factor, and then either eat the rest, give them to friends/family, or bring them to the office?

    Don't throw them out!

You could also reuse the bags? Perhaps?

Oh how upsetting!! Your favors are gorgeous & I would have gladly scooped one up!

I brought this up in another post: I swear, guests don't understand that these things are for them to take home. They are looking for the standard jordan almonds & tulle.

Those are sooooo cute!!! I'm sorry no one took them home =[  They're my colors but my wedding isn't until next May so that totally wouldn't work.

Good luck, I don't really have any suggestions for you.

They were on every table, one for every guest, placed right there on the table plain as day next to their wine goblet. Maybe I'm just assuming things but I mean c'mon, what do people think they're for?

I was grumpy last night about it so I broke into 3 of the bags and ate all the chocolate kisses and gummi peachy penguins out of the boxes. For my weight's sake, I don't think I should eat all 90 boxes of candy though...

Offering to replace the sticker is a good idea. I just have to find someone that wants frog green favor bags now. I tried putting them on craigslist but I've had no responses. I just think they're too customized. My seed packets I don't think are good enough quality to put on etsy or anything. They aren't absolutely perfect but they're cute.

Gosh it was so disappointing. I shouldn't put a monetary value on our wedding memories but those boxes of untouched favors are staring at me and I can't look away!!

I think you could sell the bags, just remove the ribbon & your tag! You can even sell the seeds- they're really cute! I'm sure someone will buy them off you :)

Seriously... I'm so sorry. I can't believe people didn't take those!

Oh no, they look awesome, I wish I was at your wedding, I would have snapped up all the ones I could see yum yum.

Have you sent Thank you's yet? Maybe you could hand deliver them and take a favor for each person along with you.

I think they are really cute!! I also think you could relabel them to sell to someone else.

We did jam, that had their name on a label on the top....and people still left them behind.  Since I could pop the label off the top I took them to my office and passed them out to several ladies who always help me out with trade shows, etc.  They became my, I'm sorry I've been a bit air-headed the past few months, thanks for helping me out in a "jam" treat ;)  Do you have anyone in your lives who you could pass along a little "treat" to if you can't sell them?

I can't believe that happened! Everytime I've been to a wedding the first thing we do is look for the favors if they're edible cuz we're usually starving.  They must have thought that they were so cute that they were just for show!  I love your seed packets too.

Your favors are SO cute.  Have no fear, your guests were just too silly for words.  I think donating the candy is a great idea if you can't find a buyer.  I'm getting married in April.. so I'm out.

I think we posted at the exact same time earlier... because I completely missed your update!

The favors were on the tables next to the wine glasses? HUH? That is SO strange! Perhaps they were just having too much fun at your wedding or they were distracted by all your other fabulous touches to realize they were supposed to take them home. Maybe they thought they were for decoration? 2 hours after hearing about this I'm still perplexed.

haha definitely don't eat all 90 boxes of candy! ((hugs))

Thanks for all the hugs and feedback bees! We're sending a few bags to some family in Utah and I think I'm going to 1) just give the candy away (with the exception of some peachy penguins of course, those are mine! Tongue out), 2) sell the seed packets if I can separetely, and 3) try to uncustomize the bags and sell those, maybe just get little wedding bell stickers or something to put over the sticker with our names and date on them.

I think more centerpieces went home then favor bags! Oh well.

    Thanks bees!

They are gorgeous!!! Really lovely! and I am so sorry that people didn't take them. I know it is upsetting.

This just goes to show that (similar to EJS's post above) we brides spend all sort of time and energy (not to mention money) on these wonderfully beautiful things... and then no one appreciates them! At least you can show it to all of us here- we definitely love them!

Wow.  I'm at a loss.  Not only are they adorable, but they clearly look like a favor to take home.  (And they were sitting on the tables too.)  I'm sure they made a wonderful addition to the tables, but I don't see how they could be mistaken as simply decoration.  Perhaps were most of your guests older or of a certain culture, and were only interested in what they thought of as a traditional favor?  (Not those new fangled Hershey kisses? :P)  (IE.  my relatives are used to getting jordan almonds or those wedding cookies for favors.)

If you have candies, like gummies, that are  exposed to air, I don't think you want to try to sell them (unless you remove the gummies).  I like the idea of either taking them to a nursing home, or children's home.  I also like the idea of using them as little "thanks" treats, or delivering them to some friends family, coworkers.  It sounds like the faster you can unload them, the better.

    So sorry.

Sorry that happened. I've never heard of favors forgotten ... you must've had an amazing day that they were so tired to even think of favors! Lol.

Where did you put them? Just wondering. Did guests know to take them?

My office would love it if you brought the candies in! We always bring in left over candy and treats from holidays and events.  Think of it this way: your guests had SUCH a great time, they were celebrating and didn't even think "wheres my favor"... bring them to the office or to your next get together and don't let those suckers go to waste:)

I like the idea of donating the leftovers to a hospital or nursing home.

Now I'm REALLY second-guessing giving out favors!  Undecided

You did an awesome job on those and I love the colors!

You know Halloween is around the corner could you give them out to Trick-or-Treaters? And use a Halloween sticker to cover up the wedding sticker?  Or take the candy out and pass out that candy and keep the bags for gifts later one.

For the seeds you might try taking them to an Elem. School. They like to have the kids plant stuff and watch it grow, etc.

Your packaging is absolutely adorable!  We fully appreciate them here on weddingbee.  I would probably just pass out the extras among my friends whenever I saw them post-wedding.  That's what I did with the extra favors that I had.  My friends gladly took them off my hands - especially the edible portion.

I would have totally taken one, and probably more, because they sound so fabulous!  I like the idea of donating them to a hospital, perhaps a childrens wing? Or maybe the seeds could be given to school aged children to encourage planting?

I went to an anniversary party last month where that happened and it proved to me that no one really cares about favors, even edibles such as those were. They were in plain sight too. In that case, they were sent home with whomever was still there when everyone was cleaning up. Can you perhaps take them to work and pass them out? Take them apart and eat the candy (or give it to coworkers, etc). Honestly unless it's chocolate, it really won't go bad overnight because it's pure sugar which is a preservative. Plant the seeds or give them away.

Ok, I want to b*slap your guests! Those are freakin' cute... and from one bride to another, we know that we all put our heart and soul into the details! It tugs at me when we spend all that time and we see our precious STUFF laying there... unused! UGH!

I would totally cry, too, so don't feel you are being irrational. People that aren't dealing with their own wedding just don't get it. GAH! You can send all of us a bag? See, we all love them!!! Oh, if only shipping were free!
