@ABCMom:  Blood tests are more sensitive than urine tests, so if they are negative it is unlikely you are pregnant.

How long were your cycles?

Have you been under stress lately? On any new meds that can affect your period?

I suggest you follow up with your doctor as discussed.

@ABCMom:  Ok well- I have always gotten my period- until recently (the last few months)– I went to the DR for something else- but this was sort of what they researched…..I missed my first period all together (except from when I was pregnant)- in October.  After blood tests and an ultrasound– it turns out I have PCOS.  I don’t have ALL of the “typical” symptoms that people have when you google it, but my blood work was indicitive.

I thought I had missed my period due to stress (it was the month before the wedding, and my son had been sick when I should have ovulated)–

I ended up getting my period Niv 17th (2 months and 1 week after my last one) and I haven’t had one this month yet– EVEN THOUGH I HAD ALL THE TYPICAL PMS SYMPTOMS.

I also took a preg test- it’s negative.

I bring up the PCOS because it’s pretty common.  Birth control controls the symptoms and masks the condition- so many women don’t know they have it.

Generally you don’t get diagnosed until you have missed a few periods….or I guess I should say DR’s don’t start considering it, since women can miss thier periods and that’s not considered abnormal if it’s a random occurence.

I’m not saying I think you have it- I’m just saying that it’s something that I never would have considered because I don’t fit the mold…and it all started with a missed period when i knew I wasn’t pregant.

Also- obviously, you might just have a false negative or it might be really early?
