i did not use this person but there are raves on the knot about her. her website is also amazing. It's Jonilyn Photography. Supposedly starting at $1400!

Try Kristy Klemens. I think she is just starting out. Not sure what her rates are. Her fiance's videography rates are really affordable.

is it possible to find a photographer with a 'no-frills' package in the los angeles area? i'm looking for someone to shoot for about 6 hours, just our ceremony and reception, to give us all the high-res images on cd/dvd, and perhaps an option to buy an album later...
is this possible for about $1000?

Don't cry!! When is the wedding? I am going to look through my info in the morning and find someone for you!!! Myphotographer has comparable rates for some packages (or did when I booked, might have gone up) and you can try emailing her. Let me look tomorrow and send me a PM with your date and I can give you my photog's info.
I eloped in Newport Beach and my photographers name was Tamara (Face on by Tamara). This was a mid week elopment package so it was only $450 for 4 hours. She e-mailed a two teaser photos that night and then got the CD to us with over 500 shots within a three weeks. I don't know how her work would be for a reception, but I loved the phots she did for me.
You should call Michelle Taylor ASAP! She's a talented photographer, pricing is very reasonable and she's wonderful to work with. I've referred her to many clients and each one was very happy with her work.

So I've been talking to a photographer for 1.5 months trying to get a meeting and we had a meeting for tomorrow scheduled. Earlier this week she says one of her other clients wants to change her date to my date...ugh. Now I'm all said and in a state of panic b/c I don't have a photographer yet. If the photographer would of scheduled a meeting me in december i wouldn't be in this mess :(. My wedding is in August. Does anyone have any suggestions for photographers in the affordable price range $1500 - $2500. Thanks...I'm going to cry now.
