Instead Darling Husband and I decided to do a ton of Angel Tree tags and Donate to World Vision. http://donate.worldvision.org/OA_HTML/xxwv2ibeCCtpSctDspRte.jsp?section=10389′ defer=’defer
We are saving up now to donate toys to the Childrens Hospital and supplies to the Humane Society and Womens Shelter.
Hopefully I can get more family members involved this year!!! I always feel better giving things that are “needed” to those less fortunate.
Just wanted to share! Im super excited 😀

This is so nice! It would be great if you could get a lot of your family on board to help too.

@MrsRuby: *Awesome* We pick an orginization to do this with every year! It seriously is so rewarding and I just love it. This year we are putting on Christmas for a little girl and boy in foster care and I am so excited to start shopping for them 🙂 Last year we bought toys and stuffed animals for the kids at the Ronald McDonald house and for my birthday last year we donated those hammock beds and squeaky toys to the dogs at out local animal shelter (luckily it only had like 10 dogs cause those beds are expensive!), my present was being able to play with the cutest doggies ever 🙂 We even brought my dogs over and had a little dog play day!

Thanks! I hope it encourages others to do the same 😀

I love ideas like this. However, I had a friend that did something like this for another charity, and she sent her family cards that said in lieu of gifts, she donated to this charity in their behalf. She donated around $500, which was a huge stretch for her.
She then got phone calls from family saying they rather would have had a present!! LOL. PEOPLE.
But I love the idea. I’d rather do this than get presents I don’t want/need.
