Hello Bees, need some help again this time.
My Fiance and I live in western canada. We need to take a 5 hour flight to Montreal to have our ceremony because his family is all there.
We are not planning to have any registry because we can’t really bring any big gifts with us after the wedding (our luggage will be overload). Besides we are planning to have a money chest at the wedding ceremony (for anyone who wants to give us cash as gifts and also any cards).
1. Do you think it is odd to have no registry?
2. How should I let my guests know that we can’t take any big gifts?
Thanks for help in advance

First, I don’t think it is odd to not have a registry at all. We are not having one either. If someone wants to give us something they can gvie us, cash, check, or mail us a gift. Your wedding is technically a destination wedding, so your guests should know that it would not be wise to give you material gifts at your wedding. You could however do a wedding registry online and have the items shipped to whatever address you could retrieve them from after the wedding. You can let your guests know your registry/nonregistry information via word of mouth and/or you could set up a website with your information.

@noritake22: Thanks for advice! And yes you are right, mine is more or less like a destination wedding… plus our house already has everything we need… not too sure what kind of things we need/ want… or I should say we don’t need anything in the moment haha

You should consider registering at Myregistry.com. You can add items from any store and ship them to any address you need. My husband and I used this registry for our wedding and found it very easy and convenient since we were not limited to only one store. GL!
