My fiance and I had 3/4 of the wedding planned and paid for before he got around to getting the ring and proposing (started planning in October, proposal was December, wedding is in March) so I know how you feel! Best of luck!

Going well. I’m planning from a distance, but my mom will be meeting with a hair and makeup person next week to finalize a contract. I still need to work on favors and a cake topper, though. And my final fitting is Tuesday!

Congratulations! You two are practically engaged; a mutual agreement to marry each other is an engagement! I think you two are doing the most sensible thing — easiest to nail your budget down from the get-go.

Pretty much everything in a wedding revolves around the venue.

The venue looks gorgeous! Looking forward to your recaps. 🙂

WOW what a gorgeos venue! You guys are in the serious planning stage so I would consider it to be an engagement 🙂

@Trilly:  us too!  He basically proposed to me on our second or third date, and told me he would “marry me in a second” before we were even together.  We had known each other for awhile and by the time we got romantically involved it was already a given that we were perfect for each other, so he told me we should get married pretty early on in the relationship. Ever since then he’s told me he wants to marry me and i was the hold out.  When I came around it was obvious…he asked my parents permission at my brother’s wedding in June, and in September he told me we should look at venues.

Got my ring and formal proposal in December!  Already had a wedding date planned out at that point.  I think it was sweet.  The first time he told me he wanted to marry me was YEARS ago, before we were together.  And he told me we should get married again after our first real weekend as a couple.  It’s a sweet story. 🙂

@Sporty-Bee:  We had the deposit on the venue and photographer and my dress had already arrived (because it only took 10 days instead of 3-4 month like they told me) by the time he proposed.
