Well, I didnt wear sunblock, but I wore the same mosturizer with spf 15 that I always use and my face wasn’t extra white (though I’m pretty white to begin with).

Hmmm I haven’t heard about this. My foundation has SPF 15 and I wore it for our epics and didn’t seem to notice being any whiter (I’m already pretty pale).

I just heard this in a YouTube tutorial from a makeup artist. That some foundations and sunscreens that contain Titanium Dioxide (most notably MAC foundation) can cause your face to look very pale/white in pictures.

Has anyone experienced this? Is it something that can be corrected by a good photographer or should I steer clear of my MAC foundation on the big day?

Not wedding related but I did notice this with MAC foundation.  I wore MAC foundation for my graduation a few years back, no sunscreen.  I was pretty horrified when my pictures came back and my face was really, really white.  I’m mixed (black/white) so I have a semi-dark complexion so it was really noticeable.  So I don’t have any pictures of my graduation that I actually like looking at. 🙁  The digital ones weren’t as bad, but my now FI was taking pictures with his film camera and they turned out terrible.

If you’re worried about burning on your wedding day maybe try looking for a sunscreen with zinc instead.  It might not be as glaring in pictures.  I’ve never tested it though, so I’m not really sure.

See, the reason I’m not sure of this is that I have had pictures where this doesn’t happen. Pictures at different times with different cameras and photographers but wearing the same makeup and this doesn’t happen. I just don’t know.

@kala_way: I used Clinque foundation (no sunscreen) for my wedding and didn’t have any issues with being burned or being washed out/white in pictures.

BTW LOVE you icon!! I loved the never ending story growing up. Laughing
