My church requires coverage… enter bolero. But I’m having a hard time imagining a veil & bolero looking good together without it looking like too much going on..As much as I would love to wear a long veil I just don’t see it working. I like birdcage veils but I’m not sure it fits my style or wedding and my Fiance has expressed how much he hates them.
And no veil brides? Or did you wear a bolero and veil? Show us your pics!

I’m not wearing a veil at all. I’ve never been drawn to them, and I think it would overwhelm my figure (I’m 5′) plus it just wouldn’t really fit our venue or my dress. I’m wearing a flower fascinator, though!

No veil! But I have an awesome ostrich feather wrap.

I am with Lilyfaith, I too am 5′ tall and the veil would be too much. I just never pictured myself with a veil. Our wedding is outside so it would be hot too. I am wearing a beautiful haircomb.

I am 5′ 2″ and I was deadset against wearing a veil; however, my son was pretty adamant about me wearing one, so when I went to pick up my gown with my daughter, I gave in and tried one on. We both fell in love with the veil idea, so you might want to try on a few different styles to see what they look like. I was very surprised.

I’m wearing a bolero, and also feel that a veil would be just too much for me. I thought about a little birdcage, but even though I love love love the look it didn’t fit with the rest of my accessories.
What I’m wearing is this: a DIY hair accessory made of old family jewelry. The rose quartz beads came from my aunt, the pearls from my paternal grandmother, and the porcelain brooches from my maternal grandmother. I put it together with epoxy and wire and it works so perfectly with my spring vintage butterfly tea party wedding (is that too many words for a theme? I don’t mind).
(Please ignore the awkwardness of my self portrait.)

Alright, it would seem I’m not having a good day when it comes to posting photos, so here’s a link to flickr instead:

Did you get your Bolero yet? I think one made from a more demure fabric, like lace would look great with a veil.

I’m not doing a veil either. It just does not fit my personality. Instead, I’m having the hair stylist put real flowers in my hair. My trial was yesterday (See pic below).

I’m not doing a veil! (I don’t think…). I’ve just never been drawn to them either, and I don’t think a veil goes with my dress. I like my dress without a veil, hair down… so I’m just doing that. I’m not sure if I’m doing a hair accessory, but I don’t think anyone will (really) even notice that I don’t have a veil.

I also wanted to do a birdcage, but my Fiance didn’t like them. So I’m just going with a feathery clip. I don’t have a pic yet, unfortunately, but at the shop where I got my dress they told me that about half their brides don’t wear veils- so you’re certainly not alone!

I’m thinking of no veil for me, but instead adding feathers .. I think its different and classy?

My best friend skipped the veil and looked fabulous. There’s a picture on my blog: http://tristasgobbledygook.blogspot.com/2010/02/shes-back.html

I like you am a bolero bride and I will NOT be wearing a veil. im barely 5’4 and a veil would be just too much! Im most likely wearing a flower fascinator in my hair but I also would consider wearing a vintage hair comb 😉

I’m not wearing a veil, just a flower in my hair.
