We’re having an outdoor ceremony, and my FI really wants us to pass out some kind of noisemaker (e.g. kazoos) for the audience to use as we all “parade” over to the cocktails. Secretly, this idea makes me cringe; no one in my family has ever done anything like this, and I can’t imagine anyone really enjoying it (on my side, anyway). I also personally cannot stand the sound of kazoos…and I don’t think I’m alone. And, if we really get into it, we’re trying to have a kind of eco-friendlier wedding, and I don’t want to pass out a bunch of plastic junk, etc.
All that said, I really don’t want to crush his idea. He really wants to do this.
Am I over-thinking it? Would this idea be as horrible as I’m imagining, or is it really not a big deal at all? Is this a common practice that I’ve somehow missed?
