Your rings are gorgeous, ladies!!! Yayyyy us for not going the traditional route!! (not that there's anything wrong with that...)
l'm new to the board and love showing off my sapphire :) It's a 1.53 carat blue Ceylon sapphire from the Natural Sapphire Company, set in an Edwardian-inspired platinum mounting and surrounded by 2.1mm Canadian diamonds (setting is also from NSC). Hope you like it as much as I love seeing all of your bling :P
P.S. Who has platinum, and who has white gold? Are you happy with your choice? I love the weight of platinum.
@jpindtla: Beautiful!! I think that's my favourite part about my aquamarine too - it seems to have it's own little personality and I never get tired of looking at it because of the way the colour changes in different lights...my mom was the first one that noticed the green colour and I just noticed the pretty deep blue on my drive home from work tonight. Love it!
Hello all! I'm loving the ring pics! SO hasn't proposed yet but we did talk details on the ring and it will be a Heart Cut Tanzanite set in White Gold :-) as soon as she's on my finger (and I have a manicure!) I will post photos on here! :-D Anyone else have a heart cut Tanzanite out there?
I toyed with having a larimar engagement ring, since he proposed in the Dominican Republic and the stone can only be found there (naturally, I mean) but couldn't find any settings in the places we looked while we were there. I ended up sticking with my original plan of not having one (for the time being) but I did end up with a beautiful larimar necklace from the trip, and my beautiful engagement ring about a month later (CZ, not diamond). Here's a picture of a larimar and topaz ring I found online that made my heart flutter...maybe for the next holiday????

Wow, this thread is amazing! Can't believe I've never posted my ring on it:

Pearl with a diamond accent with a sculpted sterling silver band (I believe, not too familiar with metal types)
I have two engagement rings, both of which are non-diamond.
The first is an opal estate ring trimmed with diamonds and tsavorites. I love it but the size (literally to the knuckle) and delicate nature of opals makes it impractical for daily wear. However I bring it out for special occasions!

Then Mr. C got me this lovely emerald and diamond ring that's much more practical to wear on a daily basis. I felt guilty about getting a second ring, but he'd gotten the opal a spectacular price thanks to a friend of ours and when we found the emerald it was on sale. Together they were under $800!

And then a shot of the two of them together.

Love both of them very much! The emerald is what I dreamed of having since I was a little girl, but the opal takes my breath away. I am not sure which I'll sport on our wedding day, but it's a lovely dilemma to have!
Here's mine! .85ct peach sapphire ... has just a hint of color & goes perfectly with the rose gold setting!
@JuniperSage: It's beautiful!!! What a lovely stone and metal color combination :)
@JuniperSage:My goodness your ring is incredible!! Congratulations!
My fiance proposed with a celtic ring with - gasp - no stone at all!
(Now, I wasn't the one gasping, but some others might have). We've been engaged for 6 months and I have HONESTLY not once had e-ring regret.
I'm not a diamonds type of girl, and without ever really discussing it, he picked this out:
Mine is a little thinner than this one, but you get the idea.
A very good friend of mine is a jeweler and creates all sorts of fancy (and expensive) one of the kind e-rings, mothers rings, etc...and she's agreed to make my wedding ring.
Since I have a band, we toyed with an eternity band or something similar. Both of our birthdays are in May, and emerald is the color we're going with for our wedding (emerald and a lighter green) so I decided I wanted a ring with green stones that doesn't stick up super far. And I want it to be a little funky.
These are the inspiration pics I sent to my friend who is designing my ring, I get to see her drawings next week! Can't wait!
@Cappugcino: I LOVE that first one!!!! There's one I'm considering that looks similar.
I've never wanted a diamond ring. Or, if it was a diamond, a black diamond (so pretty!) But now that I'm looking around even more, I can't deicde! I'm not engaged yet but we're thinking about it and my poor boyfriend is being tortured daily with my "Would you buy me this as a e-ring?" he just sighs and goes back to what he was doing.
Ah well - one day, right?
@JuniperSage: I'm so glad someone on the Bee bought this ring! I think many of us have been lusting over it forever. : )
Here's mine - I've had it awhile but realized I never posted it to this (seriously great) thread. I'm wearing it with my fiancee's wedding ring in the second pic.
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :D
I love this thread and looking and everyone's rings! I'm so partial to emeralds because you just dont see them often and I grew up obsessed with the wizard of Oz. Not only that, but my grandma always had on tons of emeralds (Irish) lol
Im secretly envious deep down because these rings are soooo beautiful. And while I'm super traditional, I have something in me that just loves the colored stones. I will DEFINITELY be looking into a colored gem for a right hand ring tho :D <3 lovely rings girls!
While I waited on my new ring to arrive this thread kept me content!
Everyone's rings are gorgeous!
Mine is a ruby & diamond halo on 14k yellow gold:

WOW I feel right at home on this thread :) Here is a pic of my 3ct Natural Emerald and Pink Sapphires that was custom made (he has a matching engagement ring too) we just got engagened on Dec 26.

Beautiful rings everyone!! Can't wait to get my non-diamond ring so I can show it off too :D
I'm so happy I can finally post here! I didn't even think I'd be getting an e-ring cos it's not too traditional in my FI country (Spain) so he totally surprised me. He had me thinking that he was going to get me a bracelet the cheeky monkey. He chose Aquamarine cos it's mine and his birthstone and we're also getting married in March... and he knows I have a soft spot for them
.
It's 18k white gold with 2.22ct square emerald cut Aquamarine, it faces up small at 7.55mm x 7.55mm. I wear a size 5.5.

I wanna play! This is my 7mm/2.15 carat alexandrite e-ring! Set in white gold with diamounds making up the very small and delicate halo (:
@KatyElle: love ur ring! is it from "Laurie Sarah" designs? is the center stone pink sapphire? just gorgeous!
radiant amethyst with double diamond halo, split shank pave, and filigree dome

I love this pos! Here is my pigeon blood ruby and diamond ring... Awful cell pics, but had to share :-)

Wanted to add mine (esp since I just figured out how to upload pics!) :)
2.25ct Garnet ering with diamond halo and diamonds down the band & my plain 2mm yellow gold wedding band (which i love the most.)
I absolutley LOVE looking at all these gorgeous gemstone rings. I love how personal they all are. My engagement ring is a yellow sapphire with diamond accents. Sapphire is my fiance's birthstone, and yellow is my favorite color. So I thought it would be perfect!
