@FutureMrsHolmes: Thank you! I do as well. I am not really a "diamonds are a girls best friend" kind of girl, just not me. I knew I wanted a non-diamond stone and blue has been my fave color since I was about 11. I especially like the smaller diamonds donw the band. I think it accents the diamonds that frame the topaz.

It's a substantial ring though- the gem is pretty big but it's beautiful. It's Judith Ripka, and bloomingdales always has sales, so you can get it for around $300 or so.

This is my RHR. It's a garnet center stone, and I absolutely love it. I get way more compliments on it than on my engagement ring. It's from Macy's, I think with sales and coupons it came to somewhere between $300-400. Good luck!
This is not my ring but we were in the store the other day and was thinking about getting it as a second ring to wear on trips or something (I'm always paranoid that I will lose my ring). This is from David Yurman $425. It is sterling silver with pave diamonds.

3 1/2 carat pink topaz with diamond halo on white gold. A little under $200!
My initial e-ring was $350. A large cushion cut smokey quartz. I changed it to diamonds because quartz is too soft and was getting scratched up! I'm changing it into a pendant.
